We stayed at the Faros for two nights only but would have been very happy to stay for longer. Great hotel, very central location - right next to the harbour, great pool and fantastic breakfast. The rooms were fairly basic but clean and plenty of space for us and our three year old daughter. Local nightlife (pubs with loud music and karaoke) could be heard from balcony but double glazing cut out all noise in room. All in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel to families wanting a hotel 'right in the thick of the action'.

Room Tip: Well worth paying extra for a sea-view room!

We booked the Faros as it had excellent reviews from previous holidaymakers. We were not disappointed, the food, cleanliness and location was very good.
We had decided to go all inclusive although most of the other guests were B&B. The breakfasts were a bit basic with the usual choice, and the lunch was an a la carte menu which was very nice, the dinners however were a different theme every night with some delicious food.
The location of the hotel was fantastic, a short walk to the beach or the harbour and close enough to the shops.
Altogether a very nice hotel with some lovely staff.

Room Tip: I would try for a front sea view

I just spent a week at the Faros. Overall the hotel is about average for a 3 star. The pool area is nice, although it is next to the road so expect traffic noise throughout the day. Large lobby, tv room etc. The food was excellent, but what really let the Faros down was the service. We were there on an all inclusive basis, which means we were pretty much treated like freeloaders, rather than people who have paid extra for the simplicity of having our food and drinks included. We are not you 24/7 drinkers, nor were we loading our bags up at the buffet but this must have been the case at the Faros in the past. Some examples:
1. First night at dinner every table is given table service for drinks. We get a glass of wine and bottle of water. When mid-meal we ask for second glass of wine we are told all inclusive have to go to the bar and get your own drinks, service is only for the other guests. Not an unreasonable request, but it was the general approach and tone that we were talked down to like dirt. When this was raised with the restaurant manager he said I had an attitude problem, welcome to customer service at the Faros.

2. Tennis courts. All incisive means you must pay to hire the equipment at faros, it's only a few euro, no big deal, but not ideal. However, when handed the raquets they were completely battered and broken...it's the end of the season reception says. Well in that case why not buy some new ready for next year, looking at the stuff it must have been in that state for some months.

3. Drinks service by the pool. I quote "I do not help all inclusive".

I have been on one other all inclusive before in Mexico. This experience was worlds apart where all guests are treated like guests and nothing is too much trouble. I think the issue at the Faris is that there are a mix of half board, b&b etc so naturally why would the staff help us... Thing is we do give tips aswell.. Not this time.

Me and my wife were there at the end of September 2010.Although was not full season ,it was quiet and it was in the center of Ag.Nappa near all the souvenir shops ,pubs and restaurants. The port and the beach was nearby-150 meters. The disadvantages of the hotel was the charge for using the refrigerator about 3,5€ per day and there was no shampoo or bath foam in the bathroom. Its hotel policy not to use the refrigerator without charge although when we arrived to the room the fridge was already working and when we refused to pay the charge nobody came to unplug it and it was stil working till the day we left!!! Also when we asked for a bottle of shampoo since we have travelled all over the world and always was shampoo at our bathroom they said they only put shampoo in suites and not in simple rooms. At breakfast it was a variety of food but the coffee was tastless!!!

Stayed here for 2 weeks at the start of June. Very clean and well presented hotel with free parking for guests (or anyone else who drives up and presses the button on the car park barrier!). The outside is extremely well kept and the pool is fantastic. Maid service was every day and staff in general couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.

Our room had a bath with a shower but no bath plug. Asked at reception and was told they removed all the plugs to save water. This obviously doesn't save water at all as you have to leave the tap running all the time you're in the bath to keep it filled. Top tip - bring a bath plug.

The most serious problem was that the beds were so rock hard so we both ended up with back ache by the time we left.

The location is great, quite close to the night life of the square, even closer to the beach (although Nissi beach 5 minutes drive away is nicer). There's a great bar next door that specialises in ice-cream and beer - what could be better! For a good day out hire a 500cc beach buggy from one of the local bike shops, they're great fun for about 80 EU a day. It's also worth visiting the water park, which is only a short drive away. One thing we noticed was that there were far more Eastern Europeans than Brits in Ayia Napa and even the hotel poolside DJ sounded exactly like Alexander Meerkat - simples!
