“Lovely resort, good location.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2011

We stayed in the Nissi Beach Resort in the last week in May. We found it to be an extremely clean and well run hotel.
We arrived in the middle of the night and a porter took our bags straight to our room. The room had a full fruit bowl and bottle of wine to welcome us - much needed after the long trip! In the morning we were greeted with a gorgeous view of the turquoise waters outside and went down for breakfast. The breakfast area was lovely both inside and out and well sheltered from the sun which was already strong even at 8 am! The restaurant looks over the hotel's gardens which are immaculate - no small feat in such arid conditions. You can also see the wedding gazebo which has a fabulous sea view. The breakfast itself was as you might expect in a hotel of this standard - large, varied and always being refilled - an excellent start to the day!
There were on average 3 weddings a day whilst we were there but the wedding recpetions seemed to be well organised and each party has it's own space. I spoke to one of the brides who said she really felt like her wedding was the only one.
The hotel has an enviable position on Nissi Beach (public beach) which is extremely popular. The water is crystal clear and a real pleasure. However, if you are not keen on dance music then the consistent sound coming from the non- hotel beach bars might irritate you! You have to pay for the loungers on the beach and as it was quieter (and free!) by the hotel's pool, we chose to stay there most days. The hotel has numerous pool and beach bars which all serve delicious iced coffee and well as a great range of drinks and snacks. The animation team were pleasant and didn't hassle you to join activities (as happens in many hotels). There is entertainment on in the hotel every night and it its light hearted and enjoyable.
It was my boyfriend's birthday during our stay and I asked if it was possible to have a birthday cake. The hotel not only made us a chocolate cake but also left a bottle of fizz in the room for us - free of charge. Really unexpected and delightful of them!
The hotel's spa looks lovely. We got free beach towels from there each day - very handy! We were also able to use the showers there at the end orf our last day rather than paying for a late check out.
Throughout our stay, the staff were always available to help but at the same time totally unobtrusive, the hotel was amazingly clean and comfy and it was a great base for our holiday.
There was a bus stop just outside the hotel. The holiday rep tipped us off that you could get an all day ticket on the local buses for just 2 euro each and this will take you to the Waterpark (fun but very pricy) in one direction and to Aiya Napa, Protaras and Paralimni in the other. The bus runs til 4 am so this is a great way to get around although be warned: you can be waiting for a bus for some time!!. Aiya Napa was a bit nicer than I had expected given it's reputation! However, it is more pricy there than Protaras and I think the service in the bars and restauarants in Protaras was better (we liked Hippo Campus and Eden Square) - it's also a lot more chilled out than Napa if drinking and clubbing is not really your scene. There are load of tours running from both Napa and Protaras so you can do as much or as little as you like - there are loads of little shops that sell tour tickets and it's worth shopping around for a bit of discount.
There are also plenty of supermarkets and restaurants on the road (we liked Apple Restaurant) where the hotel is sited. As a Brit you might find the manner of the restauranteurs a bit full on - they court all the passing tourists and ask them to come into their restaurants - some are more vocal and insistant than others! Personally I just want to be left alone and look at the menu but each to their own!
Overall I can't really fault the hotel. For me though I think I would have preferred a slightly quieter location but being 2 kms from Aiya Napa I couldn't really expect it to be silent! I understand that this hotel is part of a small chain and I would certainly be happy to be a guest at any one of their hotels again.

Room Tip: Book a Sea View if you can.

not to happy about the lottery of room keys you are given a key you don't like the room give back the key next visiter gets that key and this goes on allday the reason being the view you are sold is the main hotel what you don't know is the main unit holds about 200 rooms the back off the hotel hold arround 120 chalet with views you would not like e
Every day i complained reception did not want to know ,i did not unpack because i was hopeing to move. we paid for 4 or 5 star and got 1 or 2 star chalet instead of a sea view in the hotel which we paid for..i would not recomend this hotel to wedding guest

We stayed for 10 days at the Nissi Beach Resort and also got married and held our reception at the Pelican Beach Bar.

We got married at 2pm followed by photo's, champagne toast and reception at 7pm finishing at 1am in the morning. We chose the buffet option and had a DJ also at the venue.

Thanks to all the staff at the hotel - it was the best day of my life! Attention to detail was excellent and we were made to feel very special.

Its a great hotel with fantastic facitities topped off with one of the best beaches in Cyprus. The food was also of a good standard altough we only really ate breakfast and snacks by the pool. Its about 30 min walk into Ayia Napa so great location too.

The service we received was excellent - given a beach bungalow, bottle of champagne on arrival, and breakfast in bed the morning after the wedding.

We were made to feel extra special when we had our candlelit dinner after the wedding. This was from the restaurant - it was the best meal we had during our stay and we ate at some very nice restaurants outside the hotel premises.

Great beach and pool area at the hotel - not too busy and good atmosphere.

We did some of the watersports on the beach. Great choice on offer we did jet ski, pedalo, paragliding and flying fish.

Fraser offered plenty of activities at the hotel such as archery, aqua aerobics, volleyball, bingo etc etc.

Staff very friendly and helpful.

The rooms do vary and worth paying more for beach bungalow or room in main building with sea view.

We are definately planning on going back for an anniversary. Would recommend this hotel to others and as a Wedding venue.

We stopped in the Nissi Beach in a Beach Bungalow for one week to have our wedding there. It is the perfect setting for weddings and the staff make sure that everything runs smoothly. Even though there are a couple of weddings a day your day is still your own and it is made to feel special.

We had our reception in the Pelican and the BBQ buffet was fantastic and everyone was talking about the food the next day.

I would recommend anyone to stop here its brilliant.

Rooms were comfortable with a good bathroom (though couple of mornings without hot water in shower), location and grounds fantastic, stroll through the palm trees and lawns onto a wonderful beach. Was very peaceful in April though the pool was not heated and very cold (there is a warmer indoor pool). I was worried that the hotel would be taken over by weddings but there was only one wedding while I was there and it was very discreet (I only know it happened because I met the couple). However, there were hundreds of Russions staying at the hotel for conferences and the dining facilities really didn't cope very well. There is only one restaurant (a buffet) which was very crowded and noisy. There are many places to eat very close to the hotel so I think I would rather eat elsewhere if I stayed at this hotel again. Everything else in hotel very well run and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Some garden rooms quite close to karaoke bar . . .

I looked forward to staying at this hotel because of its setting on Nissi beach and the beautiful grounds, which I'd walked through on another occasion. However, the decor and furnishings in the room were tired and dated and badly needed an upgrade. Although the bed was very comfortable, the coverlet was a dull brown colour and the curtains dark striped.
The worst disappointment was the breakfast. The orange juice was not fresh, but a type of squash. The fruit was mainly tinned. The hot breakfast items were mainly cold. The breakfast area was like a rugby scrum and things kept running out e.g. boiled eggs, coffee, teapots and milk jugs, iced buns, white bread. This was because only one very stressed waitress was replenishing the items and she could not keep up with the demand.
I've stayed in a few hotels in Cyprus and this was the worst managed breakfast area I've experienced there. If the hotel was billed as 3 star, it would just about have been acceptable, but it definitely didn't reach 4 star standards. When we paid the bar bill on checkout, the receptionist didn't ask if we had enjoyed our stay or wish us a safe journey. Apart from one very friendly bar waitress and our original welcome with a fresh orange juice, which was good, we didn't get any personal attention at all.

We got married at nissi beach hotel and stayed in the beach view suite which was amazing.
The service from the staff was the best I have ever had.
The wedding staff made everything run smoothly and stress free. I loved my stay at nissi beach and my only regret is that it did not last long enough!!
