“Fantastic Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

Alion beach is a great hotel. This 5 star hotel is luxurious hotel where they cater to all guests need. The room is perfect, has everything you could need. Wifi worked like a dream. Breakfast had a fantastic variety. Everything from variety of breads to fresh juice. Perfect way to start the day.

Dinner was delicious. Their buffet has a large range of food. Even fussy eaters are catered for. All food tasted excellent. Restaurant staff were attentive and fantastic. Really can't find anything wrong with hotel.

Oh lastly, a special thank you to all the reception staff who helped us throughout our stay. Especially "George" who was on night time duty. He was fantastic and helped us with everything from travel recommendations to spare toothbrushes.

Overall, one of the best hotels. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Try to get a sea facing room. The view is fantastic. Well worth it.

Have nothing but compliments to pay this hotel and its warm and friendly staff. My girl friend and I had a fantastic stay here. The rooms were perfect; large, light and clean. The service was outstanding from every person we had contact with, the bar man even brought lunch down to the beach for us. They have a prime spot on the beach and access to the east of Cyprus is very easy.

The wife and I stayed at alion for one week in the first week of november. My ffriend had picked us up from the airport and took us to the hotel, as we enterd the hotel a concierge took our suitcases to our room as the gent asked for our voucher we were given complimentary drink not just for us but for our friends as well. We had bed and breakfast accommodation. The room was superb, brilliant cleaners keeping the place spock and span!! Breakfast was great everyday a nice choice of buffet and service was superb. One morning I was pouring water into my glass and the bottle was almost empty, the gentleman cooking the eggs saw this stopped what he was doing grabbed another bottle of water and started to top up my glass. I can say with my hand on my heart all the years I have stayed at hotels never has the service been so attentive. The grounds, views weather and food were awesome. The food quality fresh and portions huge. A must Greek salad and seafood platter to die for actually all the food was lovely! Reception staff there always very helpful giving you map and advising on places to go. Also the manager was a gent, i had a parking ticket and did not have clue on how to pay i went on the web to no avail, i asked reception to help the manager himself took time out for me went on police website and sorted out the fine!! Personalised service. To be honest there is so much more I can say about how superb this hotel was but I am lazy and can be bothered to type anymore.

I highly recommend this hotel and its staff, it made the holiday! So if you want the best holiday stay here! !!

We just spent one week at Alion ( 13.01-20.01) and we can say without doubt in our mind that it was the best service we EVER had at any hotel in the world.
We came to Ayai Napa to have our Civil Wedding on the 16th.
The hotel gave us a free upgrade to a full sea view room. On the day of our marriage they made up our room with rose petals on the bed, bottle of champagne, bouquet of flowers, fruit and snack platters and a gift. As well as they offered us free glass of bubbly at the bar when we got back from the ceremony.
We made use of indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna as well as gym, squash and tennis table.
The garden outside is well maintained, as is the beach side.
Every day we had buffet breakfast in the hotel, which had pretty much the same items each and every single day. Quite basic, but we were not missing on anything.
The rooms were nice and clean and had all the amenities that anyone will need for a comfortable stay.
Staf at the front desk were very helpful with directions and other arrangements.
it seem that January was the slowest time of the year for them, and we didn't see more than 6 other guests in the hotel. Weather was lovely 16 to 20 degrees, but too cold for swim in the outdoor pool or in the sea. Since Ayia Napa is a summer destination, 90% of stores and restaurants in the city were closed. So if you are looking for more of hustle and bustles of the city, I advice you to come in the summer. But for us to spend a romantic week alone, this time of the year was perfect.

Room Tip: The full sea view rooms have lovely view all the way from Cape Greko on the left to the Harbour on t...

Just had a weeks holiday at Alion Hotel and its fair to say we were blown away with the service that we received as well as the location of this great place. We booked a sea view room and we got an uninterrupted view of the beautiful Mediterranean sea. The sandy beaches were to die for. As this was the off season for them the hotel was really quiet but in no way that meant they did not look after us. All the staff who we came across (to name a few Yanis, George and all the other ladies at the restaurant) had a passion to make sure that we were happy with every thing they provided. We traveled with our 4yrs old girl and they were kind enough to ask every evening what she would prefer for dinner and give her exactly that! We were on half board basis and every day there was a different 4 course set menu to choose from. Their portions were so generous and we only wanted 3 courses and the food was really tasty as well as presented beautifully. We had sandwiches, salads ... etc at lunch a few times and they were equally tasty. All in all the food was excellent.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We got an extra bed for my daughter which was in great condition too. The bathroom was very workable although it was crying for an upgrade. The shampoo, conditioner etc was stocked up daily and our room was made up daily too. We didnt have one single day where we asked them to replace towels and make the room where it wasnt carried out.

We did not use the outdoor pool but the indoor pool was great. The first day when we got in, the temperature of the water was low and it was cold. After letting the reception know about it they confirmed that they will sort it out and from the next day onwards the water was warm and we really enjoyed it. My husband used the Gym a few times and said that it had great equipment too.

The hotel was really quiet over the week that we were there and we were told that its only in this year that has happened. We didnt really bother whether the occupancy is high or low as long as we were looked after. About twice they had live music and that was great too. Due to the low occupancy the ONLY down fall that happened was we had to go to their sister hotel Nissi Beach for the New Years Eve dinner. Not that it was a must but the hotel informed us that they will be having only live music and there wont be a gala dinner due to not many people being there and if we would like we can go to Nissi Beach. They provided us with the return taxi transfer free but we had to pay EUR70 each at the Nissi Beach. That was THE disappointment. The food was average, no spread what so ever, at the action counter there were already cooked meat and the guy was just carving the meat .... the entertainment was just ok and all in all we were a little sad that we spent extra money on something that wasnt really worth. However this was something that we decided to do as it was recommended by the hotel but it would have been nice if it was at the hotel itself or it was given with a concessionary rate as we werent aware of the fact that there wasnt anything happening at the hotel on the new years eve at the time of the booking.

The location of the hotel is great as its close to all the pubs and clubs (all though they were all closed). I can imagine this being the perfect place to stay in the summer when every place is open and happening. The white sandy beach is gorgeous and very clean. There were few people sun bathing and playing in the sea when the weather was about 20C.

All in all we had a great holiday and we surely will be returning in the summer and cant wait for that. We hardly ever go to the same hotel or the same destination even if we get a great service but this hotel is one exception!!!!

Room Tip: Sea view is a must I would say as the view is breathtaking ..... any will be even more beautiful in...

I was at this lovely hotel at the beginning of November on my own. I had to get away and after reading all the reviews, I confidently booked this hotel and made my way. I found the staff very helpful and kind. I arrived with a chestful of cold and in need of R&R. The housekeeping staff were very kind and concerned for my welfare. Restaurant staff were helpful and always asking to see if I was okay. Food at the restaurant was very lovely, fresh and different. Not your usual all inclusive recycled nonsense that you find in some hotels. Well maintained pools and great beach chair system whereby you get allocated a chair for the duration of your stay. I do think that the jacuzzi ought to be free to use as you have to pay to use it or if you book via a package deal you get it free. Very close to Ayia Napa and there are a few restaurants and shops nearby. Bus stop opposite takes you around on a bus for less than 2 Euros. Very convenient and beautiful hotel. Will be returning with my husband in tow!

This hotel is located in Ayia Napa at the seaside. If you want to rate the hotel only because of this then you should rate it with 5 stars.
I have visited this hotel in November 2013. Infront of the hotel was no doorman. But inside he was waiting, watching me how I have opened my car to pull the luggage out of it and to carry it into the hall/lobby. A girl from the receiption arrived to ask for the voucher. Then we have received a lemon juice as a welcome greet.
After the check in we have gone to the room which has had a sea view. The room itself was furnished and decorated very simple. It has no touch of a 5 star hotel. The hotel informes the guest to pay attention to environment reasons. If you want to exchange wet or dirty towels you should put it into the bath tub which we have done waiting that it would be changed to get fresh towels. But within 11 hours the room mate has not done it. A second person has prepared the bed to get into for the night. The sheet was opened upside down. But nobody has poured out the rubbish bin. The dirty towels were still laying in the bath tub. The breakfast was served inside the restaurant and outside on a terrace. The everage age of the guests in November was about 70 years. Some of them were taking bread out of the restaurant to feed the birds on the terrace. Others have taken away bread or fruits for picknick outside the hotel. The quality and the offered breakfast has the standard of a 3 star hotel. Within 5 days one time smoked salmon was offered. It looked and tasted very old. The reception staff was helpless when it comes to complaints or questions. None of them were able to answer the question how far away is nicosia(lefkosia), the capital of Cyprus. One lady at the reception has asked her colleague. His answer was 70 km. The distance is about 90 km. Each of them can check it in internet with help of google maps. But this is unknown in the hotel. The bar has had entertainment in the evening of a perfect singer. At 10:30 p.m. one waiter and one barkeeper were caring about the guests. The drinks were expensive: for examble Baileys 3 cl=5 €. At 11:15 no staff were seen anymore. We were waiting for the bill at the bar. After 5 minutes the entertainer (singer) was searching (while singing with the microphone in his hand) for the barkeeper in the kitchen...The garden looks perfect. The pool is waiting for guests. The beach is infront of the hotel. You can park your car in a garage. The check out was poor: Nobody has asked for satisfaction or was offering help for the luggage.
Ayia Napa was a nightmare in November: 85% of hotels, bars and restaurants were closed. Streetworks have started but nobody has finished it. So you will find a lot of damaged pedestrian ways.
My personal opinion:
Check in: 2 points
room: 3 points
Hotel: 3 points
Reception: 2 points
breakfast: 3 points
garden:4 points
facilities:3-4 points
beach:4 points
cleanliness:2-3 points
bar:2-3 points

Room Tip: seaview is best

Dear guest,
Thank you very much for sharing your experience on trip advisor concerning your short stay at the Alion. We are very disappointed to read that the level of our servcie provided was below your expectations. I would like to appologize on behalf of the whole Alion team and to assure you that your valuable feedback has been discussed with all head of departments. Appropriate action has been taken to rectify the quality gap.
November is the biginning of the low season (with excellent weather!) and Ayia Napa becomes more quite. This is the ideal time for all those guests who would like to extend their summer and benefit from the very low rates in combination with the excellent weather (in only 3 hours flight from north Europe!). Of course the average age is higher as well as the needs of these guests vary . For guests who are looking for more action we would suggest the main season up to the end of october. During the main season the whole Ayia Napa resort is in full operation with many activity options and all shops and restaurants open.
Thanking you once again for your feeback we look forward to welcoming you back earlier in the season.
The Alion Team
