“Brilliant family hoilday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2008

This hotel was a fantastic family hoilday. I would strongly recomend this hotel.

Staff: were nice friendly people however sometimes the service was very slow sometimes you would order a drink and never get it. However this was only at the night time.

Food: the food was very nice we were there 10 days and the whole ten days there was a differnt theme of food everynight. There was always food for the kiddes chips, burges etc. Breakfast was good with loads of choice. lunch was as good howver at 2:00 there was a buffet with chips and burgers and more. drinks were served all day and ice creams.

Location: although the hotel was ayia napa it was far enough away from it and you never heard any noise. it was 8 euros to get into ayia napa and 5 euros to go to the water park.

hotel: the hotel was beautiful loads of space it was quite a small hotel rooms wise however the facitlys were very big two big pools and health centre tv room and many more.

Lovely hotel in a great location right next to 2 great beaches, not much else locally other than a couple of bars and a couple of supermarkets but being all inclusive in a lovely hotel this was never a problem.
Food was good pleanty of choice breakfast luch and dinner plus snacks all day at poolside bar aswell as cake and cookies in the afternoon! , dinner was a different theme every night - italian, fish, mexican- bbq night was the best !!
Rooms cleaned 7 days a week and mini bar in room which was expensive but a nice touch.
Our room was a family room on the ground floor with patio out on to a pretty grassed area with views of the pool and the beach.
The hotel had 2 fantastic pools 1 childrens with 2 slides and was where the music and quiz took place and the other more quieter but lovely and the pool temperature was like getting in the bath ! pleanty of shade if wanted and plenty of sunbeds and parasols for everyone ( we did go in term time though).
Fantastic friendly reps and a kids club i couldn't get my kids out of !
The only negative point i have was the evening entertainment - after the kids disco the reps were left to do the shows 5 nights a week where they sang various songs and although the reps were fantastic they didn't have the best voices and got a little tedious - that said though this holiday was fantastic value for money and have paid much more previously to other hotels with fantastic evening entertainment but the hotel itself -pools ,beach quality was no where near the standard of the dome so i guess you just cant have it all !!!
I would definatly return and have already priced it up for next year
and would go in june/ july again as it was so relaxing with just the right amount of children !

Where will i start...... went to the Dome Beach Hotel 16th July 08 for a week with my boyfriend, we couldn't of asked for a better hotel.
A very clean hotel and maids came and cleaned your room everyday with fresh towels etc.
Our room had a very nice view of one of the pools and the beach, at night we could even see the lights at Ayia Napa quite clearly.
We went all inclusive, which i would recommend as you do get your moneys worth, food is really good plenty to choose from and is served all day long and as much drink as you like, waiter staff very quick at serving you and happy to help.
The entertainment is good, bingo everynight with plenty of euros up for grabs when you win. They are really good with the children entertainment as well as the adults, just hope your not shy as they are always keen on getting you on stage!!!
The sunbeds near the pools.....wel like most hotels you have to be up early to get one, so we spent most of our time at the private beach although you did have to pay for the sunbeds 2 euros each which isnt very much for a cool breeze coming from the sea in the heat that we had. At the beach there is loads of water sports to use, we had a shot of the Jet ski's which i would highly recommend, 35 euros per jet for 15mins out on the sea!!
Waterworld is in walking distance of the hotel about 15mins, plenty of shoots to choose from, all very different and the big wave pool.
Ayia napa is 10 euros in a taxi or 1 euro 35 by bus. To go shopping in ayia napa is really good lots of shops to go into aswell as the night life even if you have young children its worth just going to see the buildings and all the lights on the ayia napa strip.
Only bad thing I have about our holiday is our flight home with thomas cook it was delayed 3 and half hours, 2 hours of that was sitting on the plane!! And they weren't very good on letting you know what was happening but other than that it was a really good holiday!!

I read some reviews of this hotel before I decided to book it for my first night in Cyprus. At first I was quite disappointed with its location, being quite a long way from town if you choose to walk (skeptical if you can even get a cab) and there seems to be nothing much around it at first glance, except for a small beach in front of it. However, me and my boyfriend ventured into town shortly and had a very scenic walk as we approached the more active promenade from the old world charms of little houses and taverns along the water.

We realised the main town could be too much of an action-packed venue for a pleasant stay just on top of cafes/restaurants sprawling along the promenade and we could not find any authentic restaurant serving traditional dishes in it at all! We walked back along the same route and managed to find an inconspicuous tavern quite close to our hotel and had the most amazing fish mezze meal.

The next morning after a quiet night, we had a good lookout from our balcony of the water. We walked in the opposite direction along the waterfront from the hotel and discovered more interesting beachfront close to the airport, filled with peaceful atmosphere of people doing exercise in the water, families having picnic, sunbathers revelling in the sun. If we had stayed in downtown , we probably would have thought there is only so much to Larnaca.

There is nothing flash about this hotel but it offers a good night's sleep, a good view of the sea and a good base to explore the other side of Larnaca. I was quite happy with my choice in the end.

  • Liked — Simple; Fulfils basic need of a good night's sleep at reasonable price
  • Disliked — WC did not flush properly

We have just returned from a fabulous fortnight at the Dome Beach, myself, my now husband and 5 yr old daughter plus a total of 15 guests with a variety of ages stayed here in May to help us celebrate our wedding which was held in the Dome Beach.

We arrived early on a Monday morning and a little tip please take some food and water as there are no facilities past 12 so you may need something of your own. Check in was a little slow too but with a lot of families that's to be expected. anyway enough of the bad points everything else was great. As we were getting married there we had a bottle of fizz, bowl of fruit and flowers in our room for when we arrived which was a nice touch.

The hotel was kept very clean and staff were both pleasant and helpful. The facilities were good, 2 pools, enough sun beds and umbrellas for all.

We met with the hotel manager on a couple of occasions to sort out wedding details as we were getting married in the hotel grounds and having our reception there. On the day it could not have been any better. The wedding was held under a gazebo in the grounds with a red carpet for the aisle and all chairs we dressed with white chair covers. Although the ceremony was over quickly we had photos taken in the grounds and on the beach and they are beautiful. The reception was a BBQ on a veranda and again was lovely we had it to ourselves and had a personal waitress, Maria who was lovely and had you a drink in your hand before you needed to ask. On the day we had an extra 15 guests who were able to get day passes to use the All Inclusive facility. So if you want a holiday and wedding in Cyprus the Dome Beach is ideal.

The hotel was good as I have mentioned food was also good there was plenty of choice both at lunch and evening meal, and you could eat your evening meal outside or in the restaurant. The meat dishes were to die for and cooked beautifully and if you have young children they had a children’s buffet.

All in all the wedding and holiday were lovely and everyone enjoyed their stay there. We will definitely return in the future.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2008

I stayed at the Dome Beach resort for 6 nights from the 19th June 2008 – 25th June 2008. We got married last year in Cyprus at the Grecian Park so decided to get a last minute deal to celebrate our anniversary. We originally booked the Pavlo Napa which is about a 15 minute walk into Ayia Napa, on an all inclusive basis. We travelled with Thomas Cook and upon arrival at Larnaca (at 1am) we were advised that the hotel was overbooked and we would be moving to the Tssokos Paradise which was “like for like, a 4 star all inclusive”. We received no apology from the rep at the airport and to make it worse we didn’t even get to see our rep until 4.45pm the next day! The Tssokos Paradise was a 3 star self catering apartment, about a 5 minute walk from the beach, and 1 hours walk from Ayia Napa… a long way off the 4 star, beachfront, central location of the Pavlo Napa. On our first day (before we met the rep) we walked to the Olympic Lagoon and also the Dome who both advised that there would be rooms available for us. When we met our rep he advised us that we would have to stay at the Tssokos even though it was only a 3star as there were no available rooms in the whole of Cyprus, we then advised him of the hotels that stated they had rooms for us. After he spoke to his office for 20 minutes he returned and told us they had phoned those hotels who confirmed that WASN’T any rooms available! By this time we were getting very annoyed with the situation as we had already wasted a day of our holiday. We insisted that the rep walk to the Dome with us. Upon arrival it was confirmed to us that there was a room for us! By this time the Domes rep, Matt arrived and advised us that even if there was a room available Thomas Cook would not pay for it as it was not a “Thomas Cook allocated room”. To cut a long story short, we eventually got the room but the only reason we did was because of my husbands persistence. We found Thomas Cook’s attitude towards to situation disgusting, particularly Matt, the Domes Rep who only changed his mind about getting us the room when the hotel manager turned up and said it was available (How convenient!!) I would never recommend Thomas Cook, especially if you are booking a late deal with them (the Pavlo Napa advised us the reason they were overbooked is because Thomas Cook didn’t fax over the details!). I travelled with First Choice last year and used there normal rep and wedding co-ordinater and both were 100 times betters then the Thomas Cook reps!

Anyway onto the hotel:

Location – Its about 5kms from Ayia Napa and in my opinion not walk able in 36c weather (27c at night!) You would definitely need a car if you want to venture out because taxis are quite expensive (about 7 euros into Ayia Napa, at least). Buses are ok, were on time when we was waiting to go into Ayia Napa but a bit of a nightmare when we was in the centre wanting the come back! It is set on 2 beaches, one is quieter and good for snorkelling, the other is the nicest beach I have ever seen, in my opinion nicer then Nissi Beach.

Food – We found the food very good, lot of choice for all meals, breakfast had everything, even a waffle maker. Lunch was good, always a good choice of foods, beef, chicken, lamb and fish with potatoes, rice and pasta. Dinner was good because they had themed nights every night, eg Cypriot night, BBQ night, French Night, Italian night etc etc so not the same old stuff that you would get in some buffet restaurants. As for drinks, beer (Keo, Carlsberg and Leon) all included plus cocktails and soft drinks.

Hotel – Room was very nice, well cleaned and had everything you need. Pool area and grounds very well kept.

Entertainment – Day entertainment seemed ok but didn’t really participate, there is a daily quiz around the kids pool and plenty of activities to do, e.g. Football and Water polo. The entertainment team look like they work really hard because you would often see them eating their breakfast at about 10am and they were still there doing the 10pm show! If I’m being honest the evening entertainment wasn’t very good though! If you have kids then this is a great hotel to visit as there is a kids club and mini disco every night.

All in all, after the problems we had, which were through no fault of the hotel, we had a lovely time at this hotel and would definitely recommend it (but with a car), to couples and families alike.
