“NOT IMPRESSED....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

My Husband and I stayed the first 2 weeks of October we stayed in the Deluxe Wing we were on the ground floor over looking the pool. Very pleased with our room no faults there very well cleaned every day with fresh towels daily exactly what you would expect. The pool area for the Deluxe Wing guests (only) was a delight and we had an excellent service by the staff at the Sushi Bar during the day nothing was to much trouble for them. Now here comes the buts we were staying on a half-board basis money wasted we believe....Breakfast well we did not find that to bad if you catch the restaurant at the right time - food for the cook breakfast options was relatively warm and passable. If you were 5 or 10mins later it was like a cattle market and people pushing in to get there breakfast first. I will add at this point that the staff did a very good job and were always pleasant but they were under pressure at all times to keep tables cleared and trying not to keep people waiting to long. I can honestly say this is the only time in all the times we have gone abroad for our holiday we have had to queue to get a table so long. All meals both breakfast and evening meals were in the outside restaurant in the evening we were appalled by the way most of the guests dressed for dinner in the evening THIS WAS A 5* HOTEL with a dress code!!!stated on signs around the hotel. I just wonder how those guest would feel if the restaurant staff turned up in shorts and t-shirts (pool wear) or tatty jeans and flip flops ....perhaps they should try!!! I am sorry to say that the food in the restaurant was of a very poor standard in the evening we had only 1 meal there which was cold we also tried instead 1 meal at lunch-time and that was even worse and we are not fussy eaters at all. So we finally gave up and went out every night to the Dione Restaurant next to the Adams Beach where we had excellent hot food every evening and lovely surroundings we also met fellow half-board guests from the Adams Beach doing the same thing. We did inform the Reception staff of our unhappiness regarding this matter but we did not get any feed back.....Very disappointed and we would not return again to this hotel.

Dear Guests,

Thank for taking the time to review about your stay in our hotel.

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you and all of our guests that the management of the hotel taking into consideration some of our guests' reviews for the main restaurant of the hotel, has decided to enrich the hotel with a new restaurant in the Deluxe wing. This restaurant will be available to the guests of the deluxe wing and the suites of the hotel and it will offer breakfast and dinner.
The new 'Atlantis' Restaurant is now under construction and it will be ready with the re-opening of the hotel early in April 2014.

Kind regards,

Room was clean, but very small - especially for a 5 star hotel. We stayed half-board; the food wasn't great. The view from our room was poor, but the location made up for it. Minibar was expensive but the mini supermarket adjacent to the hotel was more than satisfactory. Staff were pleasant, overall we had an okay stay.

Visited Adams Beach as travelling to stay for a friends wedding on the island
The decor of the reception area was very welcoming but unfortunately was not extended to the rooms and restaurant which were very tired looking
Staff welcoming and helpful Pool area lovely as was piano bar but oh dear breakfast awful
Although we travelled in October the queue for breakfast was long should have been warned by notice in lift advising if you want a more relaxed breakfast without queue to arrive early! This we did after first day and went for breakfast at 7 I thus expected a hot breakfast but hot food was always cold and as the restaurant was outside it was very cold at that time in morning so people were eating breakfast with as many clothes on as they could muster The second gripe is paying for wifi this we were prepared to do for the week but were expected to pay for each separate device IPad , iPhone etc which we have not experienced before at hotels we have stayed in , it was not even free in main reception rooms. Overall not a bad hotel but definitely need to get breakfast issue sorted because the variety of food etc was good but at a 5 star hotel you don't expect cold food and have to queue for breakfast

When we booked this hotel it had 5 star reviews with Thomas Cook which set high expectations..... I travelled with 50 other guests for a wedding in September 2012, upon arrival the reception and entrance was very beautiful and grand and the service at check in was average. The hotel was very clean but the rooms where very outdated and didn't look quiet 5 star! However we had friends staying a new wing of the hotel and their room was far more modern and was more what we expected. The pool and food is average also.... This was really made up for by the beautiful private beach that had clear blue waters like in the brochures! Also there is a sushi restaurants on site which was amazing!! It overlooks the beach and is very chic! The wedding reception was held in a hut beach style room overlooking the beach (practically n it) and was just perfect we watched the sunset. This was the first time I felt the service in the hotel was excellent as the wedding has obviously cost a lot. Overall the hotel it self and our room wasn't that great but was still clean.....the location, beach and the little extra surroundings made it great though!

Room Tip: Not sure what the rooms are called but i think the newer modern rooms are couples only and they are...

Just back from staying at the Adams beach hotel. The first thing we noticed about the place were the <dirty grey towels> in the bathroom. They looked and felt about 10 years old with the seams at each end frayed. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and never seen anything like them.
The only five star bit about the hotel was the Glass House Restaurant, I think it was the only reason we did'nt starve. The service we received from Cleanthis and Ramona, who looked after us on the three nights we dined there was exceptional.CleanthisD pointed out the best wines and also advised us on the menu.Ramona kept our glasses full all through the courses and thank you to the chef the food was excellent. I don't think we will stay at the hotel but will definitly dine in the Glass House next time we are in Ayia Napa.

This hotel needs to dramatically change things or risk dropping even further in its Tripadvisor ratings. Interestingly it has dropped from 44th to 50th out of 102 hotels in Ayia Napa since We booked to stay 4 weeks ago. It is very short sighted of the hotel management to ignore points past guests have made to improve the hotel. I was a little apprehensive I had chosen the wrong hotel from the past Tripadvisor comments but felt I would try it.
They boast they are good value, yet you have to pay 32.50 euros per item to use the wifi. You have to pay 10 euros to use the safe, I mean come on!!! I have NEVER paid to use a safe in a hotel. The breakfast is ok but the coffee is foul, fruit juice is disgusting, it tastes like cheap squash, again, what 5 star hotel does not serve FRESH fruit juice? The pool is in dire need of retiling, large areas of tiles missing from pool, one area I cut my toe on! The indoor pool looks like somewhere people go to die, it's depressing and massively dated. The entrance area leading to the piano bar is like walking through the 1990's with trellis, fake plants, a god awful painting, a fountain display that doesn't work properly (some of the 'bubble stye' fountains spurt sideways) and there is a dry ice machine that gurgles dry ice pathetically over a small area of the fountain. Yep you heard me correctly, dry ice! The seating is old, dusty and needs throwing. The lift which would afford lovely views over the pool and sea is obscured by glazing which has 'blown' meaning it is full of condensation and you can't see out of it! The singers in the Piano bar are awful, so bad that it was actually quite funny. The rooms are ok but the bed was dreadfully hard, my daughter was on a put you up bed that collapsed if you sat on the edge/side of it, with wheels I can only describe as roman chariots blades, we all cut our feet on them. The style of wardrobes are again, dated. The curtains were filthy, full of dust. Bathrooms showing their age, need re-grouting and our shower head needed replacing. The worse thing has to be the attitude of the staff though, which is dreadful, rude and arrogant. I have been to Cyprus 11 times, for the weather (obviously) but also because the Cypriots are such welcoming, charming people. Had I stayed here first time, I don't think I would have come back. We tried to politely advise them that that the matters Tripadvisor re-viewers had commented on really need addressing, one front desk member just shrugged his shoulders & smirked at us. The breakfast manager looked blankly when we complained about the god awful juice and the night staff were simply useless! They don't seem to be able to help or action anything. The location of the hotel is beautiful, set on the edge of Nissi beach within 10 minute walk of Macronissos beach. It's a real shame the management of Adams beach don't get on top of the issues that are reducing their rating. Lets face it, if they did, they could probably put their price up a little and boasting they are good value is hopeless if people continue to complain about the hotel. Napa Mermaid was only 100 euros more for us, which if you remove the 42.50 euros for safe and wifi at Adams, only puts it 57.50 euros more, thats not a massive difference at all! I wish I had booked that hotel instead. It's a shame as I can see Adams Beach would have been awesome, in the 1990's, now she is in dire need of an update and the staff seriously need to change their attitude, they don't even smile!
