“Fun and informative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2014

We drove from a village near Limassol to pick up the Red bus after reading about it on Trip advisor. Our aim was to visit the area our 93 year old Aunt used to live. We had the two Dave's who were kind and knowledgable. Our first stop after picking everyone up was in the wonderful historic old town of Famagusta ,after going through to Northern Cyprus without a hitch due to giving our passport details on booking. Before we were dropped off to wonder the streets we were given lots of information as we travelled round inside the old walls. The Dave's kindly asked a local man where the address was we had of where our Aunt had lived up to 1974. Heading off to Verosha after a leisurely lunch armed with this information we were more interested in viewing this sad sight of the now deserted ghost town. Others made the most of the beautiful turquoise sea to swim and some snorkelled with the provided equipment further out to try to catch a glimpse of the protected turtles. After leaving the white sanded beach we set off back ,going round the back of this area once frequented by the rich and famous. We found the trip emotional but exhilarating being able to see Aunt Olive's beloved Famagusta and being able to understand more fully when she talks about the day she had to leave everything and was airlifted out by helicopter. Thank you Dave and Dave for an extremely worth while friendly helpful trip. P.S. We have since found a photograph of Olive's apartment right on the beach with the road which address we had, running parallel at the other side of the apartments.

“Fantastic day trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

This year we (again) took the trip to Famagusta as we had an additional family member with us.
The driver and guide were "the two Dave's". Having been only last year, some points of interest on the trip were still fresh in our minds, however, Dave (guide) elaborated more on what we learnt last year and with his use of humour and knowledge of the area and it's facilities made this trip more enjoyable.

Dave (driver) gave a very good drive, slowing down on open roads when the wind got a bit too strong and stopping long enough at the points of interest that Dave (guide) was talking about to enable you to take photo's or just enjoy the view. He seemed to know when to move off without prompt.

They even managed to persuade the Authorities on the "Northern side" to raise certain overhead cables that could easily have been touched if you were sitting on the open topped deck.
Now that's health and safety for you.

They were extremely kind to our son who is a special needs child and nothing was a problem to them with our son's slow movements, they even did an errand for us as we had forgotten to get something for him before we left. A really big Thank You Dave's!!
Part of the trip is a visit to the beach which is a must see- especially the turtles.
Goggle's are available at no cost for those wanting to swim in the sea.

I would suggest to anyone that they avail of this trip and the other trip which they provide, a trip of the villages along the buffer zones, they really are value for money and without going into the specific's of timings all trips start and finish at reasonable and just right timings for the weather.
You can request upper or lower deck seating at time of booking. Don't miss out. Thanks again lads.

“A must for all outings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2014 via mobile

Whilst visiting protraus in Cyprus we wanted a change from our day by the pool and decided to go on the Famagusa trip as we done our research before we left the uk we found a local travel agent who booked the tour for us it was a much cheaper option than if we had booked through our tour operator. I'm so glad that we knew about this company as not only did we save money but the tour itself was excellent Dave was so knowledgable there was nothing he didn't know ,if you are interested in history then you will definitely enjoy this tour and as an added bonus you get as close as possible to varosha the ghost resort of Cyprus and the swimming here is an excellent way to cool down after a morning of sightseeing. Make sure that you book early as you will want to ensure a space on the top deck.

We went on the famagusta day trip which was €30 each we sat top deck which gave us a good tan & clear vision of everything being spoken about. The day was very informative & I learnt a lot. Alan & Helen were great guides & answered any of our questions! Thanks for a brilliant day out
