We stayed here in May 2014.
When we visited it was immaculately clean - all communal areas and our room were spotless.
The hotel communal areas were nicely furnished - everything looked new. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, especially Maria on reception.
The hotel is in a great location, however walking back late at night, I felt a bit wary as you have to walk down a poorly lit winding road with a hedge/wall on one side and a scruffy looking scrub land strewn with rubbish on the other. It was fine of a day but at night it felt quite lonely.
The pool area was pleasant even if as always there are those strange people claiming the sunbeds with their towels before breakfast. This territorial behaviour is not restricted to one nationality but is an equal opportunities annoyance.
Walking straight on to the beach everyday was great. Sandy Bay is much nicer than Nissi Beach and is quiet (no thumping music) and kept in a pristine condition.
We only stayed bed and breakfast, which was definitely the right decision.
Breakfast had a hot and cold buffet, consisting of all the usuals. It was cooked fresh and replenished regularly. The bread was fresh and of really good quality but the coffee machine made absolutely terrible coffee (it tasted like instant coffee mixed with sugar) and sadly the only milk available was UHT. The 'fresh' fruit juices were too sugary and not that fruity!
The evening meals appeared to be carvery/roast dinners every night and the odour that wafted and lingered through the hotel wasn't very appetising.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars on the beach, at other hotels and on the main road to try instead of eating roasts each night. Go on live a little!
Our room was basic. We had a tiny balcony with an obscured view of the sea. The bed was two singles shoved together which wasn't comfortable. We were on the first floor and could hear staff preparing for the breakfast service and what I think was a washing machine spinning from 6am on each morning.
We paid €10 for use of the safe for 1 week. It was €20 per week for the fridge - which seems excessive so we didn't bother.
I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a basic but clean hotel on the beach but try to get a room above the 1st floor!
