“Not to be trusted!”

We booked Casa da Oliveira this summer and we had fond memories of the villa, up until we returned home when we got an email from the owner saying and he could not return all our deposit.

The reasons he gave did not add up to the high percentage of deposit we lost. The fabricated lies told by so called "house manager" ( to be honest I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her ) were completely untrue.

When emailing the owner to confront these lies he was insulting and seemed to have rose tinted glasses when it concerned the house manager.

I have tainted memories of the villa and I would never recommend this villa to anyone.

This review is so very sad. Over 9 years of renting many weeks a year we have seldom needed to deduct monies from our guest’s deposits. Most own up voluntarily to breakages or damage caused. If it was otherwise we would not have the large number who return year upon year.
Photos were sent of the two items now irretrievably damaged and the relatively small amount deducted was considerably less than the cost of replacing them.
Our housekeeper, as many guests have said, is a lovely helpful lady who has faithfully looked after Casa da Oliveira since we bought it in 2003, and, they often comment on how well she presents it. The language used by the reviewer about people he barely knows was unfortunate to say the least!
As always we bend over backwards to meet enquirers requests and allowed them a higher occupancy than we normally accept as well as hiring a second cot at our own expense. Apart from feeling sad myself that a guest feels this way it is especially sad that they are unable to accept the damage that was demonstrably caused by their party.

Just back from our third stay at this lovely villa in Almancil, a part of the Algarve we have visited for the past 20 years. We travelled with 3 generations of our family and the downstairs bathroom and bedroom gave them privacy and proved easy for access.

Just 20 minutes from Faro airport, the villa is secluded (but with other properties close by) and very well appointed, with lots of extras that make it a real home from home. We never use the pool (always go out in Feb half term) but it always looks very inviting and the lovely log fire makes the living room extremely cosy on a chilly winter's evening.

Close to town and plenty of restaurants, golf courses and the beach and easy access to the A22 makes the whole of the Algarve very accessible. Definitely will stay again

It was good to hear such praise from one of our regular renters - we have many that return year after year!
As we use Casa da Oliveira a lot with our own three generations of family we have made sure that the villa is equipped as a home suitable for all ages, not purely as a rental villa.
As our guests commented everything that one could want is nearby and Almancil, 2kms away, is a long established Portuguese townwhich thrives all year round unlike the tourist resorts which can feel a bit like ghost towns out of high season.
We love casa da Oliveira.
