Have been calling to Michael's excellent restaurant for many years now and never been disappointed. An ample menu, including a fantastic vegetarian section, and in season a good wine list.
Michael was in London, (Soho I seem to remember), before setting up in Almancil and he brings experience, skill and taste to his restaurant near Faro, Quinta do Lago and Val de Lobo.
I particularly recommend for vegetarians his Hors d'oeuvres (for 2+persons), a mixed selection with excellent tempura vegetables, won tons, Spring rolls etc. For others, the Dim Sum platter has gone down very well.
For mains, his wide choice of vegetarian dishes include my favourite, a great aubergine dish served sizzling hot, Three types of Chinese mushrooms, "Monk" vegetables, Noodles with bean sprouts and he is always willing to cook up something special, maybe with tofu or the inspiration of the day, particularly if you can give 24 hours notice when making a reservation.
All in all, if you fancy a Chinese meal in the Algarve, you will hardly do better!
