We enjoyed two very pleasant meals at the Green Valley in the last two weeks. The location is slightly odd in that you are overlooking a tennis court, but it kept teenagers/kids occupied for a while when the meal had been ordered. The friendly staff and good food make this a lovely low key evening out - fresh sardines and sole from the barbecue were both delicious. Great choice on the menu teenagers loved the chicken wings and rib-eye. Everyone was happy!

Family run, very good menu, friendly efficient service, but do book otherwise you may not get in. Try the Calves Liver and Bacon - Divine.

First time back this year and Green Valley didn't disappoint.. The decor may have changed but the food and service was excellent as always.. The menu is superb and the specials, as always, were many and varied. The bbq fish specials are always excellent, but with such a large menu there is always something to suit everyone. On both occasions that we visited Green Valley, the restaurant was full and the extra tables in the new bar area came in handy to seat the guests who hadn't booked. The owner greets every guest and his attention to detail is legendary. The staff are friendly and courteous and make time to explain the various dishes to anyone who asks. The amount of returning customers speaks volumes.. Well worth booking..

It was a chilly and rainy night, and the rather dated restaurant hadn't been heated and consequently, it was cold. The greeting was warm though, and a friendly waitress showed us to our table and supplied our drinks order promptly.

Amuse Bouches are supposed to be a sample of what the chef can do.....these were described as "pork en croute" and which pastry was soggy, as though heated in a microwave, rather then crispy from a proper oven.

My tomato and basil soup was tasty and helped warm me through, and my husband's black pudding starter was good.

My main course of duck breast with cherry sauce was very nice, as was my husband's herb crusted cod, but that's where the compliments stop! The 'sides' were a disaster! Soggy sautéed potatoes accompanied dull and lifeless red cabbage, tasteless puréed carrots which hadn't been introduced to any seasoning, and if that wasn't bad enough, the worst peas EVER, which were like dried bullets. Vile. They all appeared to have been microwaved leftovers. They might have been fresh once, but not the night we went!

Sorry guys, your standards have slipped and we will not be returning to one of our once annual regular haunts.

Dear guest

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our
restaurant. I am certainly disappointed that your meal was not up to the standard you expected.

I would like to apologize on behalf of the restaurant and its team.
However regarding your comment that the restaurant is dated we have to disagree. The restaurant was completely refurbished this year, ie decoration, equipment etc.,

Regarding the food the only think we can do is to apologies once again.I did pass your comment on the the chef.

I would take pleasure in welcoming you back on your next trip, so that you could experience the restaurant as it was meant to be.
Once again please do accept my apologies.
