Had a great meal years ago and decided to go back. The staff were rather disorganised and niot particularly friendly, they had our table (for 2) close to a big table with very loud customers. When we asked for a different table they were not particularly pleased and then deided to ignore us for a long time until we had to ask if that was a sample of the service that we would experience during the course of the night ... at that stage, they decided to speed up a little. It has a traditional swiss menu, however, it is rather heavy for a summer destination and in fact, the food was not as tasty as I remembered, very bland and when the bill came, it was a shock to pay so much for what had been a very low/average quality meal. Definitely not going back !

Wonderful tasty food, eaten outside and accompanied by great wine. Proper sized portions, delicious flavours and great staff

We had a very enjoyable evening, half the price of Vila Joya and much better food. The only drawback is that it was a bit quiet, in mid August. Given the quality of the food they deserve to be full, maybe the PR needs improving.

Amazing food, deserving of the Michelin star. The ambiance of the outside area was lovely, and we were impressed by the staff there.

Visited Sao Gabriel for 1st time, Been going to Algarve for 20 years with my wife and 2 sons. We were joined by our two dear friends as we sat on the terrace with the faint murmuring of traffic in the background. We knew it was going to be expensive but were prepared for the financial pain. We had a fantastic three course meal which had majestic combinations, prepared with creative flair with subliminal, interesting flavours. Apparently, I was heard murmuring to myself "I could make love to this starter" and was told to "behave" by my wife. Do yourselves a favour and blow part of your holiday budget and go there. Service is first class, and the immaculately groomed mature,blonde lady who owns it is a "wonderful hostess". and organises her staff almost military style is a joy to behold. It has a wonderful atmospheric vibe. For the purpose of clarity: This was Sao Gabriel and NOT Thai Gardens. In summary, the international food menu has excellent choice, but as I said before, pricey! But who cares, when its actually quite brilliant! I was buzzing with gratification for 24 hours afterwards. Tom C Nottinghamshire

we had a reasonable meal here but it was no where near the best thai I have eaten. (Boulevard bookshop & thai restaurant in Hastings is to die for) and definitely wasn't worthy of the very expensive price tag. Most of the starters are 15 euros +, so we decided to skip this & just have a main course each with a pad thai to share. All the mains come with rice & are filling but we felt 85 euros for JUST one portion of green chicken curry; one portion of chicken with chilli, one portion of pad thai with 2 drinks (a bacardi & coke & a lager) is very overpriced!!! I would not recommend anyone to go here as there are many other lovely restaurants in the area who provide much better food without ripping you off.
