“A "little" world of exquiste ambience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

This is a favourite restaurant on the Algarve of many who want to have a special evening of fine fare and charming attention to detail by the owner and his staff.
The pre drinks in the bar are memorable. The dining, if weather permits, in the garden is atmospheric.
Elena will help you choose a wine to suit your palate and wallet. The maître'd will guide you through the special dishes on the menu for the evening.
For the regular visitor the food menu is becoming a little tired even if trusted! Change and variation would not be out of place for the menu at this stage.
You will pay well but it is worth the cost for a superb atmosphere--one could almost do with this without the food!

“A real treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Visited this restaurant with a group of friends while we were on holiday nearby. From the minute we arrived until we left you could not fault the attention to detail and service we received. All the staff were charming, and clearly very well trained. Great advice regarding food and wine.
The food was exceptional - typical French cuisine. Great choice, something for everyone, even fussy eaters. All six of us had something different, and each dish was beautifully presented.
We loved the little touches, and it summary a great evening.
We went on a Saturday evening, and it was completely full, but it was a very relaxed atmosphere. More people arriving as we left too

“Very cosy and beautiful but expensive for the food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

I came with my grandparents! this is a special place for them as they come here for years now. I understand why. this is truly a beautiful place with tons of charm and coziness. I loved the location and the overall lightning and ambient that it created. Beautiful bar and terrace too.
The thing is, the food is completely old fashion type and not so great at all, taking in consideration the price. Is that kind of stuff that Im sure it used to impress you 15 or 20 years ago. The foi gras this and the foi gras that, foi 3 ways and then mussels soup with the pastry on top....which it didnt taste like mussels at all but more like tons of cream badly seasoned, though its still a cool dish to present. The overpriced and dated dishes go on and on. As the service. Not that its bad, just overly formal and stiff for a kind of romantic place.
Actually the best dish was a thai take on a monkfish (tamboril). Still it wasnt thai enough for me, it lacked the spices kick, but it was Ok.
Overall it was a nice experience and I liked the opportunity to know the place but thats because I was invited. I would never go back on my own with friends or my wife though...at least in the next 20 years! Till it goes retro!

“Absolutely fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013 via mobile

I had a meal here last week, it was absolutely delicious, staff were so professional and attentive. The atmosphere was great and it was busy considering it is quiet season which is always a good sign! Plenty of parking and easy to get to! I would recommend it to anyone. The sweet plate which is a mini version of 6 of the deserts is absolutely fantastic! Enjoy
