“Best part of our day in Honningsvag”

My mother and I attended a performance during our day in Honningsvag. We were passengers on a cruise ship and wait-listed for shore excursions that day. I read about this show on Trip Advisor and thought we might enjoy it. I also mentioned it to a couple on board who ended up changing their shore excursion to the morning so they would be back in time to attend. It was so fun and we had a terrific time. The college age performers had so much personality and the show was filled with song and dance, some history of the town including photos projected as a backdrop to the action and stories about the people of Honningsvag. There is a cafe so you can have coffee .pand cake. We saw the 1pm matinee. There is an evening show each day as well. It is located right on the main street above the gallery of environmental art. It is a 10 minute walk from where the big ships dock. The show runs every day during the summer season from early June to early August, you can check their website for details. The performance runs about 40 minutes as I recall. I think the tickets in July 2015 were approx $20 (U.S.) per person paid by credit card in Norwegian currency. Go and have a great time, learn about the town, laugh and be entertained. Chat with the friendly couple who run the theater. You will love it and want to tell everyone about it. Bring your friends!

On a cruise stop in Honningsvag, heard about the 1 pm show, went and saw four 17 year olds in a fun little musical performance. It gives a light but accurate idea of what its like to live in the northernmost city. Also touches on the local history like Sami culture, the fishing industry, WWII, and how they welcome tourists to their very non-tropical island. 40 minute Performances in English at 1 PM and 8 PM all summer, about 10 minute walk from the pier. Price 190 NOK but well worth it for a surprisingly professional entertainment.

We stopped in this northernmost little town while on a cruise and were delighted to find this locally produced show put on by local high school and university students, written by the dad of one of the performers. The 40-minute English show of music and dance tells the story of Honningsvag and explains a little of what it's like to live in this land of the midnight sun and the land of total winter darkness. The kids did a fantastic job, and it's such a great way to support the local talent. We plan to tell our cruise port person about this. In the meantime, if you're in the neighborhood, make sure you see this show!

The show is performed by 4 students. It was very entertaining! We learned about the history and community of Honningsvåg. It should be mandatory for everyone who visits this area. Keep up the good work!

found this gem through sheer luck and so glad I did. Heard singing and investigated to find a preview of their original show going on. The staff are talented and extremely welcoming. We put on a spontaneous three song jam on their stage with the talented musicians they have working their. Great for food, drink, beer, Internet, etc. A must see for Norwegian hospitality and culture!
