“Charming location, trendy...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

Knew this place thanks to this site... located in Torre del Colle, outskirts of Bevagna, inside the walls of a walled village (or castle). Outdoors has a very inviting atmosphere (tables under the gate, wine casks as bar tables with woven straw chairs, outdoor lights, candles) Indoors has a very nice ambiance, decorations, tablecloths, all details nicely and smart chosen. Kitchen is contemporary, viewable from the dining room (not from all angles).

We decided to have pasta (tagliatelle) with zucchini and pork cheek lard with creamy sauce (9.00); roasted duck breast with walnuts; codfish served in three types: thin sliced, fried and purée; roasted pork with arugula. Dishes costs were from 10.00 each, all beautifully presented, delicious but small portioned. We had also a hazelnut-chocolate semifreddo (5.00). After meals, a walk (very short one) is recommendable to explore this little cute village; stunning views of the Umbrian landscape can be seen from this village.

Service: initially we were served by two waitresses, one particularly smiley and welcome but later she had to leave (afterwards we learned that she was one of the owners, obviously!) the other one was OK but she looked so hasty, full place all by herself which we completely understand...

The only thing that ruined our dining experience was a group of frat youngsters who sat beside our table, showing off their high life hobbies and achievements in all five continents so loud... apart from this, the rest like it; if back to Bevagna in the future, definitely would come back.

“A restaurant inside the walls of a tiny castle, what more could one ask for??”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

This restaurant, situated just inside the walls of a medieval castle called Torre del Colle, is an absolute delight. The ambiance is delightful with groin vaulted ceilings, lots of stone, candles & medieval finishes, but with the kitchen visible in a most modern way. The staff are very attentive, the food is excellent, also the wine list is good The antipasto is served from a large bar and you can eat as much as you want. The other dishes are all interesting and affordable. The chef uses the freshest of ingredients and he loves to put his own special touch in presentation of the food. A definite 'must' for both locals and tourists

“House wine downgraded?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

We like this restaurant since it has opened under new management. But after a great start they seem to have downgraded the initially very good house red wine to something rather rough and nasty. Hope that was a blip.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

Came across this restaurant purely by accident last Thursday evening - my last day of holidays. The meal was fab, I had tagliatelle with wild asparagus for starters and Baclava which was deep fried in the lightest batter as main course, the cheesecake dessert was to die for. The service and atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed. We sat at our table and watched as the chefs prepared meals. The bottle of Montefalco Sagrantino went down a treat and the price for 2 was very reasonable indeed. Would love to go back again

“Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

A local friend took us to this beautiful place. The view of Perugia and Assisi at night is amazing. The food is delicious. Pasta and meat are very good. Lambrusco for us. They usually don't offer juice, since we were with my toddler we asked for juice and they made OJ for her. Nice and helpful staff. Great selection of cheeses. We loved!
