From the old kiosk we made a warm and cozy during the winter but airy and with a beautiful space outside for the summer. Behind us you can see the structure of the old convent with the Roman walls. All it surrounded by trees that provide excellent cool during the hot summer months. The furnishings were all renewed with spacious dining room with seating for up to 45 people, with the setting up of a bar area for a quick coffee or a relaxing aperitif. We are equipped with wi-fi and access and toilets for disabled. We are also equipped for younger children with a changing area and high chairs. We are in a large city park, away from the machines and the children can play freely. Dogs are our friends. We prepare special menu 'for celiacs, vegetarians and vegans. We can arrange dinners, tastings, cooking schools, ceremonies, catering and lunches for groups. In the club there are the chef and a professional sommelier. The closing day is usually on Mondays, but for groups we can stay open.

“Two Very Nice Luncheon Experienes”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Unlike the apparent experience of Doug210, we had two enjoyable lunches, very reasonably priced, prepared by owner Simone Proietti Pesci. I had a realy tasty pork dish both times and my wife Jane had an excellent corn- and faro-based casserole. The cheeses, tomatoes, and breads served to us were very good, as was the local red wine we ordered. We sat outside (le Delizie del Borgo in on Bevagna's main commercial street) so the people watching was excellent, especially the young children coming home from school. We would defintely go back again.

“A molto simpatico taste of Umbria”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

Every year we bring our 'Experience Umbria' photography workshop to a relaxed and delicious Sunday lunch at Simone Proietti Pesci's Le Delizie Del Borgo in Bevagna. This year's lunch was another molto simpatico experience, that included velvety scrambled eggs with truffles, gnocchi Sagrantino, a wonderful sampling of local meats and cheeses, one of the best barley soups I ever tasted--and two first-rate wines, including a wonderful red from nearby Montefalco--all for a very reasonable price.
Simone welcomed our group warmly and, once again, we just let him choose our meal. As we sat on his lovely deck, we toasted our good fortune, ate well, then wandered about this lovely medieval town and made wonderful photos. Grazie di nuovo, Simone.

“Scam artist”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

Umbria is full of great restaurants offering sumptuous meals at affordable prices. Le Delizie is decidedly not one of them. The owner, Simone Proietti Pesci, promised our party a special meal for Americans. It was special alright: toast and lunchmeat, accompanied by a dreadful bottle of wine, which Simone and his colleagues polished off at the bar while we choked down three courses of crostini (toast). The platter of lunchmeat (salumi) was marginally decent, although the guanciale was inedible. Umbria has some great cheeses, but Simone managed to find two that none of us could stomach. The best part of the meal was a chilled couscous salad. Speaking of chilled: nothing in this "special meal" was cooked (unless you count the espresso). Indeed, we could see the staff cleaning the kitchen as we were eating (we arrived at 7:30, which is on the early side of dinner for most Italian restaurants). It came as no surprise that no one else dined at the restaurant that night. I can't imagine the locals would tolerate nonsense like this. But Italy is filled with gullible American travelers who are easily flattered and silly enough to believe it when an Italian promises them something special. It's all a scam, of course, and if you're in the mood to be charmed, this could be the place for you. But if you insist on coming here and are actually hungry, here is my advice: tell him to skip the "special American meal" and order something off the menu. It's bound to be better than what he'll try to pass off on you.

“a wonderful restaurant in a town of wonderful restaurants”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We went here early in our trip to Umbria based on a recommendation. It was wonderful. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas are really nice - we always prefer outdoor if weather permits and this was a very comfortable place to eat outside. Food was excellent. We didn't eat a lot - an antipasto and couple of pasta dishes. All outstanding. And of course, wine. Hosts were wonderful. Just a really nice evening. Went back a couple of nights later and they were closed for an event. Went back a couple of nights after that and again, closed for an event. Second time, we were there a bit early, and some staff was having prosecco with friends before getting to work. Invited us to sit, gave us some prosecco, had a great time. Then the friends were leaving, and based on the staff recommendation, the friends showed us to another restaurant in Bavagna. So what can you say? Great food, great Umbrian ambience, great people, comfortable. We would go back again and again.

“Quite Nice”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Close to one of the entrances to the lovely, walled town of Bevagna is the informal, cheery restaurant le Delizie del Borgo. We ate there twice because the food was good, the service was excellent, and the price was reasonable. The second time we were seated at a table, the English speaking, charming waitress who had served us a few days before apologized, saying that she could not remember whether we preferred our water to be frizzante or still. Who would expect to be remembered at all, let alone having your water preference remembered?
Our salads were unusual and excellent. The pasta dishes were nicely prepared, as was a contorni dish of roasted potatoes. We enjoyed both lunch and dinner here.
