Visited Rugen with family and, as I am interested in everything WW2, this was a must! Part of the buildings have, or are about to be, converted into modern flats, cafes etc, which is sort of good, but then again will ensure there is less interest for us studying the WW2 period. Anyway, it was fascinating and the museum set up in one section is very interesting. They even have a Viennese café....nothing really Viennese about it, it was self service, and that service was very much old East Germany. Two of us had the Germknoedel which were good, but the other lady in our party had a crumble cake which appeared very old.
