“One of the best courses in Finland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

Linna golf is not the cheapest but absolutely worth of playing. The layout is very clear and quite nice (I would prefer more water [hazards]) and the whole course is normally in very good condition. The only negative thing is the restaurant / cafe which is totally over prized when compared to the quality.

“Great and expensive course”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2012

Not the cheapest, but absolutely one of the most famous and best golf courses in Finland. During weekends it might be difficult to get a teetime for a group.

“A Cut Above”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2009

Great course! It has a very Nordic feel with all the pines but they have obviously brought sand from abroad, given its pristine whiteness. We played it from the back tees just after a European tour event. The greens were the fastest and most true I have played in Finland and the rough was incredibly thick. It was a severe but very enjoyable test. It isn't really for beginners though - there were some long carries to reach the fairway (although this may have been due to the tour event).

Kytaja is the other course in the area which is highly rated. I enjoyed Linna more, mainly for the slightly better use of the terrain contours and the framing effect of the pine trees. Kytaja has a lot more water bordering the fairways and more of a links feel on the back nine. Once the Finnish summer kicks in, both are well manicured and worth trying. As a parting comment, there is another course next to Linna called Tawast. It is also a nice course, though more of a club course than a tour-calibre layout. Keen golfers may try to play Linna and Tawast while they are there.
