“REVIEW OF RESTAURANT ONLY :”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We were in a pension this year, so we had to arrange our own dinners. We visited 3 restaurants over the course of the week, and liked Tannbergerhof the best. Here are my comparative comments :

1.) Tannbergerhof : What a nice surprise! Outstanding service. Outstanding, traditional food. One night I had the sirloin and the next the veal cutlet. Both were excellent.
2.) Berghof : I like the way non residents are treated as guests for dinner. This hotel is pulling out all the stops to earn a five-star rating. When it does, you won't be able to afford the restaurant. I was able to enjoy the daily price fix menu (EUR 52,-) which included an buffet grill.
3.) Rudalp : Please note that the dinner menu is nothing like lunch. It's a four-star menu for dinner only. I appreciate the effort that they are trying to make, but if you're looking for a four-star dinner, I recommend the Berghof or Tannbergerhof.

Had dinner there in March and was quite disappointed with the quality of food there. I didn't particularly like the soup but the main course included deep fried and battered asparagus drenched in some Asian sauce. When I asked the waiter he replied that this was tempura style but I have never had tempura vegetables like that. The waiter was very nice about the feedback which is why I didn't continue complaining after I wasn't too happy with the pudding either. Overall a quite average experience.

Stayed at Tannbergerhof over Christmas 2011. After a very difficult journey which included a diversion from Innsbruck Airport to Munich we arrived 24 hours late. The staff couldn't do enough to get us settled in and were very helpful and attentive all week. One of the best Alpine hotels we have stayed in for friendly service.

The location is excellent, directly opposite the chair lifts in the centre of Lech - only 50 metres from the bottom of the home piste to the hotel outside bar, which is excellent - and just a short stroll to all the main shops.

The food was plentiful and very good. Good choice at breakfast and a lot of variety in the evening. Rooms were comfortable and a decent size, with all the bits and pieces you would expect from a hotel of this price. We would definitely stay at the Tannbergerhof again.

Great hotel - close to slopes, kinder ski school and in the centre of it all! No noise problem despite being in the centre as our room was in the back of the hotel. The room was perfect for our family as it had a double bed and loft with 2 single beds. A nice (but a bit small) sitting room are with TV, mini bar, etc. Plenty of closet space and nice bathroom arrangement. Bedroom was rather large, too with nice balconies. The only thing is that because our room was on the top of the hotel, we bumped our heads occasionally in the bathroom and children's loft. But after a few days you remember when to bend your head! The comforters were also a bit too warm, but I guess better to be warm than cold.

The food was fabulous, great breakfast & dinners and the service was very good, too. Wine list was good, too.
The hotel had a fun apres-ski atmosphere and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
If we ever find ourselves in Lech again, we would definitely stay in this hotel again!

We have spent 4 wonderful nights at the Tannbergerhof on Newyear 2009/10. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the heated ice bar where we took our first drinks of the trip. So we were in party-mood from the first moment on. Insider´s tip: Try the "Würstl mit Kren (fresh horseradish)" It has become our absolute favorite snack within Lech. Especially after a long day skiing.
The rooms are very comfortable and designed generously in a modern regional style. Everything was clean and the service personel friendly. Another highlight was the restaurant. Every dinner we took was excellent. But the dinner at newyear´s eve was a blast. Something that could have been better: The terrace was full of ice and very slippery. You always had to watch your step. We can also recommend the hotel disco. A lot of people from the hotel as well as guest have been partying to mixed music. After dancing all night we have spent a wonderful new years night at Tannbergerhof. All in all we recommend the hotel and we are looking forward to visit the hotel again.

Visit Tannbergerhof with my brother in law for a long ski weekend. We arrived in the afternoon and the friendly lady at the reception took direct care of us. Her colleague stored our skies in the Ski room, helped us with the luggage and parked my car in the parking garage. The hotel has a perfect outdoor après ski bar and a typical Austrian bar inside. After a long day skiing you can use the hotel sauna and I can recommend a message. In the morning there is a perfect breakfast buffet. The first morning I ordered a tomato juice and a hardboiled egg and they served it by themselves the other days, wow! In the evening we enjoyed a 5 cours meal from chef Michael Steinwender. Prefect taste, great staff and combined with some good wines (they have a great choice!) the right ingredients for a prefect evening. I already booked for next year!

We stayed in the Tannenberghof during a skiing weekend in February. My husband is from the area and we know Lech very well. Compared to other hotels (3* and 4*) the pros and cons of this one are:
Pros: super location (2 min to lifts, supermarket, all restaurants), nice food (we had half-board and the dinner was very nice, breakfast is good but nothing exceptional), friendly service and care throughout (we liked the fact that the manager arranged ski passes for us so we didn't have to buy them in the morning), pretty rooms (we were upgraded to suit, which was huge - easy fit 4 people).
Cons: If your room is facing the street can be quite noisy because of traffic and bar with loud music in front of the hotel, no terrace to relax on the sun after skiing (there is a bar outside but it is not the same and it is just beside the road), pillows and generally beds are not very comfortable, sauna area is quite small and nothing exceptional (the hotel offers you a swimming pool in Chalet Hilde, which is 10 min walk, but we never checked it as it is not convinuent to go outside after your sauna/ swimming).
Overall, nice experince (mainly due to very frindly staff and the upgrade) but the hotel is more like a 3* due to the amendities, however, priced as a good 4*.
We will probably try other hotels in the village next time.
