Been coming here for as long as i can remember skiing - and the atmosphere is incredible. The place feels more like a home than a hotel, with the staff, barmen, and Mr Zimmerman himself, the owner, all incredibly welcoming and friendly. The bar especially is always relaxed, with the barman happy to chat or indulge in conversation as he serves your drinks. The evenings are just as great, with special nights involving local folk bands, that play in the bar, while a wide and traditional austrian menu involving thick cream soups, wiener schnitzel (my personal favourite) and local wines, with grapes that season excellently during the summer. This is an ideal place to visit during months such as february or march, with friends and family. There is fast wifi, clean and nice looking rooms, all wit a bathroom. There is a spa and jacuzzi on the basement level, which is child friendly to a certain extent, as long as they're quiet and don't disturb other guests, it ok for them to use the spa (which has an incredible look to it). I remember that the reception staff were the most helpful, as the main reason people come here in the winter is for winter sports, skiing, snowboarding etc. They will book anything from ski schools to lift passes and restaurant booking high up on a mountain somewhere for you (the balmalp is one, excellent square pizzas and the most awe inspiring view). Everything else is great to, from luggage handling to taxi services. I've been and briefly stayed at other ones in the neighbouring area, and to be fair they're all great as well, but its something about the friendly staff interaction that really sets the Kristberg apart.
