Stayed for a week of skiing/boarding. Hotel's position away from the center of Lech is actually a great advantage -- first, you can't hear the loud and distorted music played by the bars and clubs over PA, and second, you get a good night's sleep, undisturbed by partygoers. It's also right next to the Hinterwies lift, making it truly ski-in and ski-out (one of very few in Lech). Hotel itself is quite comfortable and cosy. Rooms are generously sized and are in a good state of upkeep. Baths rather than just showers are also a big "plus" for me. Fitness and sauna area is new and, while a bit small for a hotel of this size, very comfortable and clean.
Food definitely deserves a special mention. It is this very rare case when the holiday hotel chef's ambition is matched by his (or her?) skill and ability to source ingredients. Take the half-board option and don't ever bother going elsewhere for dinner. Breakfast could be more varied though, and those used to a full cooked one will be disappointed. Wine list is rather uninspiring and not a match to the amazing food.
This would've been a perfect holiday stay, but for two things. First, we booked a non-smoking room. We got one that smelled like a smoker's cubicle in an airport. On requesting a smoke-free room we were told that because we checked in late (hotel was informed of late check-in at booking time) and haven't booked a full week's stay, we'll have to make do with what is available. And second, while the core hotel team speaks perfect English and are very helpful, hired help speaks almost none and has no idea of what proper table service is. We had some comic distraction trying to explain them a difference between double and single spirits measure, or between tap and bottled water -- all in vain.
Still, I would've rated the hotel "excellent" if not for a smoke-smelling room.
