It can be hard to find a table here at lunch time but everyone is very friendly - staff and other skiers. This restaurant is for a simple, good, not too long lunch. Pizzas, pasta, cold meat and cheese, soup etc. It is a very large restaurant on 2 floors with quite a small but good menu. From the Lech side you get to it by walking on your skis slightly up hill for 200 yards or from Zug the chairlift brings you straight to it (good if you are doing the circuit). Nice loos!

Located next to the top station of a double chair from Zug this was our favourite eatery in Lech ski area. Lovely 360 views, convenient access to tolets via lift and tasty pizzas. Large projector screen for alpine ski competition programmes. Prices reasonable.

They pride themselves and are known for the pizza....so when you ski up at 1pm and order a pizza you are told that there are no more pizza orders to be taken as the kitchen cannot cope - u think they would get a bigger kitchen/ oven and sort it out ! And we didn't appreciate the waitress telling is that the kitchen was "f**ed off" because she had taken too many pizza orders ! Anyway the steak salad and strudel were very tasty but when we came to pay the bill the waitress disappeared for 10 minutes. The other waiter wouldn't help as he said we weren't his table ! I said we would leave and then he said he may be able to help....oh dear what a shambles. For a busy ski cafe they need to think and try a little harder to get the simple thing right.

The title sums it up: we were suggested to go to this place by a local colleague and we were actually a bit disappointed. At first the inside looked like a modern chalet, very nicely decorated and the menu sounded very promising. We ordered and had to wait 20 to 30min before we got the drinks. The waiteress basically gave our drinks to the clients next to us on the table and who came much later. We had to wait another 10 min until the drinks came. We had soup that was ok and really not worth the long waiting time. Dessert was delicious though. All and all too crowded and not enough waiters for the loads of people rushing in there on Lunch time!

Had a great lunch at the Balmalp. Service was excellent, good menu with variety. Had a fillet salad, it was delicious, my wife had wok fried vegetables, also very good.

Well worth going to and a great view.
