“The most beautiful resort of the entire Alpine region (certainly!)!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2012

This year we have been for the 11th time in this part of Austria and we are still impressed by the beautines of this part of the Alps. Ski Arlberg is a well maintained ski resort in the most western part of Austria and It includes almost 300 kilometres of well-kept slopes. Nice towns like the decadent towns of Lech and Zürs and the more adventurous wintersport towns like Sankt Anton and Stuben are the most well-known spots in this area.In Lech and Zürs for example you find ski lifts with heated seats and lots of easy blue and red pistes. The more challenging pistes, the red an black ones, can mostly be found in the neighbourhood of Sankt Anton, Sankt Cristoph, Klösterle and Stuben.
The connections between the different areas are realy perfect. Plenty of elevators and autobusses brings you quickly to the right places.
Our real favourite ski-tour is 'The White Circle' (Der Weisse Ring). That's a ski-tour with a length of about 22 kilometers that brings you from lech to Zürs, from Zürs to the little village of Zug and from Zug it brings you back to happy snowfields of Lech.
For about € 40,00 a day you can buy a ski-pass that gives you access to the whole resort of Vorarlberg. We will soon be back!

“Superb skiing helped by buckets of fresh powder”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2012

Loved the linked ski areas, the heated seats on a number of chairlifts & bubble covers. Loved the big ski area & off piste options. Lech & Zurs & Zug are all charming villages oozing with charm & character. Lots of great on mountain restaurants & outdoor bars with heaters. Hate the fact that the Austrians have not embraced non smoking policies like the rest of Europe largely seems to have & even allow smoking indoors in a some bars still.

“Beautiful with Plenty of Options....”

from Beginner to Expert, spanning multiple cities. If you want a quite 10 house village or a village a little larger, you can find it in Ski Arlberg.

“One Of The Worlds Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2012

The Arlberg ski area may not be the biggest but it is certainly one of the best in the world. With 7 different villages (including Sonnenkopf) there is something for everyone. The cream of the crop for me in skiing terms is Zurs. Always quietest area, sometimes you feel you have the mountain to yourself, with pleanty of superb on piste skiing and lots of off piste opportunities. Ther are not many resorts with the quality of heated covered chair lifts as here. For civilised Apres Ski you can't beat Lech. The Tannbererhof & Krone apres bars compete for the best. St Anton has a reputation as a "macho" resort which isn't entirely deserved. It has some great off piste but is also good on piste. More crowded that Lech/Zurs though. St Christoph has one of the worlds most famous ski restaurants in the Hospiz Alm. Food & drink are excellent and not overpriced like you find in France. Stuben may be tiny but worth an hour of your time, especially if you hire a guide to take advantage of the off piste here. Sonnenkopf a little out on a limb is worth a visit especially if you have the oppotunity to take advantage of a tour operators special "away days"
