“A lovely place to stay”

Hotel Lech is a really good 3 star hotel, perfect for a winter holiday in Lech.
Situated on the main road into Lech from Stuben it is perfectly located for picking up a ski bus into Lech or to Zurs and St Anton.
Rooms are very comfortable with excellent standards of cleaning, particulalry in the bathrooms. We had a very sunny balcony looking west and enjoyed sunbathing in the late afternoon.
Public rooms are well furnished with lots of areas to sit and relax over a drink or the delicious apres ski cakes.
The food was very good and only the limited range of the menu [two choices for each course plus a vegetarian option] stops me giving an excellent rating to the hotel - but what more do you expect from a 3 star hotel?
The Wingelmayr family and staff are excellent hosts; Andrea offering excellent advice on walks and restaurents for lunch to my non skiing wife
We are returning in winter 2012 if the snow is good in the later part of the season.

we just finished a lovely week of holiday in Lech, and stayed at Hotel Lech. This is one of a handful of Hotels in lech that are actually open in the summer. We have been coming with our family to Lech in both summer and winter for about 5 years now, and this is the first time we have stayed at this Hotel. The owners are very family friendly - they are parents themselves, and you often see the extended family helping around! The location is VERY central to the village, so if you need anything from a loaf of bread to a Moncler jacket (this is Lech!), it is all walkable. Even better, hiking trails start literally at the doorstep of the hotel. Our kids loved it here largely in part to the freedom to run around and be outside all day. My wife and i took advantage of the active-inclusive card to send our kids to a daily summer camp, so that we could go off hiking on our own (no dragging feet, no "how much longer" questions!). We will definitely be coming again next summer. 5 stars all around.

We spent a lovely week at the Hotel Lech. We had a small suite with an adjoining bedroom with bunk beds where our teenage girls slept. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay. The beds/bedding were very comfortable, the bathroom clean and large and the living area of our suite very comfortable. The decor is dated, but very cozy and quaint. This was not even a bit of downside for us. There is lots of closet space. There is a short walk to the gondola and other lifts as well as a bus (free) for those who prefer not to walk. THe hotel is on the main road so there is some traffic noise in the morning, but we did not find this to be a problem. Wifi is available for a very reasonable cost. We found the food fantastic--delicious, healthy and interesting. This was a highlight for us. We looked forward to breakfast and dinner every day (lots of detail in other reviews so I won't repeat the details here). THe service was excellent--attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the steam room and sauna. We would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it without reservation! If you arrive by Arlberg bus from Zurich you will need to take a taxi to the hotel from where the bus drops you off. Most people reserve a taxi in advance and we were not prepared for this. Not a big deal, but better to be prepared. just a note about ski school. We were here 20 years ago and found the ski lessons great. The Lech Ski School (there are at least two other options in Lech and others in neighbouring resorts in Oberlech, Zurs and St. Anton) was a disappointment. The lessons were more of a group ski experience with a guide than actual lessons. Two instructors, though able to speak English, catered almost exclusively to the German speaking people in the group. The lessons were poor value for the money. I would try another school.

Hotel Lech proved to be a very friendly courteous accommodation for our group of 14 friends and family. Although bus transfer was required for ski access the busses were frequent and easily accessible. Good value for accommodations, service and dining.
Nice rooms and spa facility. Good value for this area.

This was my seventh consecutive skiing trip in Lech, with my now teenage son. The best thing about the hotel is the relaxed welcoming atmosphere which suited us perfectly. It is my favourite of the places we have stayed just for that reason. We have stayed in more luxurious places, we have stayed in hotels with better food but somehow I have found the other places we have stayed less relaxing, despite every attempt at professional hospitality.

The rooms are fine, slighly dated (common in Lech) but perfectly functional as a place to sleep. We spent little time in the room because the bar/lounge area is delightful - again something that we have not often found elsewhere. A log fire in the evenings and great service from the staff. The head waiter/barman, Josef, is excellent and consistently smiles as do the other staff . Wireless internet in the bar/lounge for €10 for the length of your stay.

The food was fine with choice most evenings.

If you want the height of luxury or Michelin starred food, go elsewhere - there is plenty of choice in Lech . But if you just want to relax in a welcoming atmosphere I recommend this place.

A dozen or so ,middle-aged men comprised our group. We stayed in the Hotel Lech and Chesa Rossa. The hotel comprises of two large chalets. The main building is the Hotel Lech and the other is the Chesa Rossa. Both buildings run as one and is managed by the husband and wife owners. The chesa Rossa seemed a little more upmarket in decoration .It also had a great 50 inch plasma screen in the lounge. However the main events occured in the lounge/bar area and dining room in the main building.
The Hotel is on the way into the village and is a short 2 minute walk to the centre of town and the skilifts. The rooms were all well equiped and mine had a great power shower. .The food was 4 courses and the main course was chosen at breakfast. Breakfast on its own was good and as good as in other hotels we have visited over 10 years. The evening meal was a salad bar soup maincourse( choice of 2)then a pudding. We loved the food and the staff were so friendly and a delight.
All in all it was a great hotel for our group, comfortable , good food and very friendly helpful staff. As most of our group said ,we will return as we could not ask for more .
I recommend this hotel to all.
As a resort Lech is a good ski fabulous snow with our trip and it has a great apres ski atmosphere if one makes the effort

My wife and I stayed at the Chesa Rosa early March for a midweek stay. As most people can attest it is almost impossible to get a room during peak times and the prices are high. We chose the Chesa as most hotels could not give us the 5 nights we wanted. We were a bit worried about the location (next to a gas station) but that part turned out to be no issue. The hotel is nice enough for a three star, and yes it is located in Lech. The breakfast buffet is nice, the coffee and the eggs, all served to order are great. We stayed in a Snow Princess room. The room badly needed to be upgraded, the towels were old and scratchy and the bathroom seemed seventish! The staff was nice, but it seemed that they needed to be prodded a bit to be hospitable. The view from our room was super nice and the many comments I had read about the noise coming from the street was not an issue. having said that we were probably too tired each evening to worry about that too much. The good part about the stay at the Lech is, well, you're in Lech, so enjoy the proximity to apres ski, ski lifts and restaurants. No busses or taxis for you! If I could recommend anything it's the location of the hotel, well worth it! Just don't expect a super luxurious stay. It would be great if they decided to upgrade it, then it would rate up there with the rest of the big boys. Having said all that, most fellow travellers will get the meaning of this write up. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again, although there was almost too much snow. Would we stay again, sure, but please upgrade amenities!!!!
