“Excellent food in a nice mountain restaurant”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

We had lunch here twice during our ski trip. The location is excellent just before you ski down from Oberlech to Lech , especially when the weather is lousy - a great to place to warm up and enjoy the food.

“Stop for the last one”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

I have never been to the place for a dinner. I can therefore solely comment the daytime Alm experience, not the evening restaurant level.

Location is perfect - on a ski slope, just one short drop to Lech, so you can easily enjoy your last glass of champagne or beer after finishing the Weisse Ring, make the few remaining turns and get ready for your whatever awaits you in the evening. Terrace is the place to be in the sunny weather and half of Lech visitors know that, so getting your table is a challenge. It's far worse inside in the bad weather...

Service is exactly what one can reasonably expect on such spot. No specific hurry in picking the order, but delivery is almost immediate due to LAN connections between waiters', bar and kitchen terminals. Some waiters manage their smiles and the speed required to keep the system running as quickly as possible, some not; my son was thrown his Wiener schnitzel with chips on the table whereby a third of the chips fell off the plate. No excuse, no compensation. One of our chance table mates (at a table with capacity of 8 you surely can not expect to be left alone as a group of 4) decided not to have anything and got some nasty indeed remark in German from the waiter.

As I personally never ate at the place this year (contrary to all previous occasions), I shall refrain from specific commenting on the daytime kitchen. It never was my culinary favorite, though. Prices are on the usual Lech level.

“amazing food for a lunchtime treat at a beautiful location”
Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

Stopped here for lunch on a trip to Lech from St Anton by chance really as its location is right in the middle of a lovely blue run to the town. Luck and a non skier for us a table with an outstanding view and the food was exceptional! As a veggie in Austria I struggled but not here! The hot chocolate is also to die for. Pricier than done but its Lech. Can not recommend enough!

“4* dinner in a beautiful mountain restaurant”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

This is our sixth year in Lech & over the years have eaten in many restaurants but Rud Alpe is by far my favourite for dinner. Dinner is a 4 star menu from start to finish (although there is a limited children's menu).
The staff are excellent , there were 19 in our party & nothing was too much trouble.
To get to Rud Alpe at night you have to either hike up a path from the village which can be very tricky in bits or take the cable car to Oberlech & walk across the ski slope which takes about 15mins, this is worth it for the view alone. Next time I will carry a flashing torch incase I come across any late night skiers!!
If you are going for dinner to Rud Alpe I would definitely book.
