Family and I was driving past and saw a wonderfully located Restraunt Pub, went in and was greeted as soon as we entered and was attended to immediatly, I really appreciated the fact the staff made us feel like we were the only people there and made it a great personal touch, We all had food which i must say was beautiful and very well priced as not one of us could finish the full meal due to the great sizable protions. Whilst eating our meal we was greated by the land lady Linda and asked if everything was ok and if she could get anything else for us.

If passing by the area would deffinatly pop in again, thankyou you to linda and all her great staff.

The Lion and Lamb has maintained the highest quality of both food and service over a number of years now. Our recent family birthday meal was an absolute delight. The menu was varied and catered well for our vegetarian granddaughters. Most of our main course choices were different, but every meal was perfectly prepared and superbly presented. The wine and beer were excellent also and, despite it being a Monday evening and therefore quiet, we had friendly, helpful service throughout the evening.

Came in the other day for a bite to eat before a flight with the family. Was greeted by very friendly staff. There were two Canadian gentleman who constantly joked with us and our kids and made us feel at home, even though this isn't even there's. The food was decent but it was the environment, the music and the hospitality of the staff that set this pub apart!

Having arrived at Stansted for a flight earlier than planned I found this pub only 10 minutes away from the airport. Although it was a bit scruffy and the music a bit loud the staff were very welcoming. They readily agreed to turn the volume down when taking our order for lunch. We had opted for the lamb shank which proved to be an excellent choice. It's one of my own speciality dishes and I couldn't fault the one served to me. The accompanying vegetables were also very good, not overcooked as happens in many restaurants and served with a generous portion.

This restaurant has deteriorated over the last 3 years to an all time low last weekend. We went for a bite to eat for lunch. Customer service at an all time low, starting with the barman, no smile, no welcolm. We went into the restaurant to be met by dirty tables no cutlery (help yourself). The waitress banged the plates down when serving the food, she looked very unkempt. The sauce requested was slopped into a bowl with it all spilt down the side and again banged down.
Oven chips that were not even cooked....salad passed its sell by date by the smell of it. Have to say the young girl who took the payment asked if the food was ok? we replied no not really, and it was left at that. I asked if the couple that used to run the pub were still there and she confirmed they were. All i can say is that the standards have been lowered to a point of couldnt care less.
Surely in this economic climate everything to keep your customers coming back must be at the top of your list. Save your money and drive on by...............
