This hotel has it all. Their private beach is a great place to relax. The hotel itself is great, beautiful pool, tennis courts, bocce. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything you could need. The restaurant is great, the outdoor seating is very nice. The breakfast each morning is very good, just about everything you could ask for. Remember to get the crepes from the crepe station, try them with the fresh oranges.

Gaetano and the staff were great, and went out of there way to help us with a change in reservations.

A must stay if you are in the area.

Our four night stay was delightful! The room was very clean, well equipped and quiet, but rather small. The public rooms and grounds were nicely decorated and very well maintained and the landscaping was quite attractive. We tried the hotel restaurant the first night and found no reason to venture out anywhere else for the rest of our stay. We had a rented car and very much appreciated the ample parking area, much of which was shaded, and the easy access to the road. The location with Pasteum and Agroli to the south and the Amalfi Coast to the north, both within easy driving range for sightseeing, suited us perfectly. After struggling all day to park in one of the more famous Amalfi Coast towns, we were always gratified to return to the Olimpico and simply turn in to an empty parking space and head for a cold poolside beverage or dish of ice cream!

Room Tip: The rooms on the back side are most quiet while those on the front overlook the pool and offer the o...

Stayed one week with family and friends in 2 rooms. Rooms very clean, but small. Since we didn't spend much time in the rooms, it didn't matter. Rooms have been renovated but the exterior of the building is a little run down. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so we couldn't really walk anywhere from there. But they have a great free shuttle service that took us to town, to the train station, and to the port, from where we made day trips to Pompeii, Amalfi, and Capri. They have great included breakfast with great selection. We ate dinner every night in the hotel restaurant. The menu selections were very many and varied, at reasonable prices. All the food was well prepared and fresh. The reception clerks, owner (who lives on premises), and wait staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Peppino, who has been there for over 40 years. The private beach across the street was well kept up, with chairs and umbrellas, and a beach bar where we could order lunch to eat on the premises. The grounds are well kept up, with a great pool, pool bar, games for kids. It was a great place to stay in southern Italy, convenient to all the sites we wanted to visit, without breaking the bank. Would definitely stay here again.

We had plans to stay for 4 nights after exploring Rome and Munich. We arrived and were picked up using the free shuttle service - immediately greeted by the friendly staff and live music. It was immediately relaxing and we had a faboulous first night dinner by the pool. Overall, a really comfortable small resort with great people and facilities. We spent our first day by the pool all day and decided right after that to extend our time there. It had everything we needed and we did day trips to Amalfi, Positano and Capri - easy with their shuttle and ferry schedule! When we returned at night, our table was ready and waiting for us! I was worried that we would get sick of the food staying that long, but truly there was enough variability and it was just so good... I miss it already! Try the Panzerotti... paired with a Peroni. Nice. My wife had a migraine one night and the staff noticed - we took a plate up to her in our room. The next morning, staff was asking her if she was feeling better... nice touch. Yes - the area is "sketchy" as per my son - but I quickly reminded him, it's just different and ancient - not everywhere in the world are they as spoiled and new as we are in Canada! Embrace it! I never felt unsafe and thought it was a great spot, including the private beach, bocce, ping pong, tennis, etc. Well done Hotel Olimpico. As I stated to Gaetano already - our special thanks to all his team - they made for a great vacation for my family and we would recommend this hotel to any and all. Until next time! Ciao...

As a family of 5 we really enjoyed our 8-night-stay at Hotel Olimpico. The hotel was excellent and very clean, with a lovely pool area and, despite what a couple of reviews from earlier on in the year said, a perfectly good private beach across the road. Breakfast was also excellent, and we would recommend trying Pepino's crêpes and his omelettes. The restaurant outside has a brilliant setting and very nice food, with a good selection.
We made good use of the free shuttle buses run by the hotel which were very handy. They enabled us to get into Salerno easily and from there we got ferries to Capri and Amalfi.
However it is the wonderful staff who really complete Hotel Olimpico, and yes, they really are as good as everyone says!
One thing that really stood out for us was that our stay in Italy coincided with the British & Irish Lions rugby team's tour of Australia, and the hotel demonstrated their impeccable service when we inquired about bars or pubs in Salerno that may show the game. Instead, they reset the T.V. channels in all of the rooms to show Sky Sports 3, just so we might watch the final game!

The only negative aspect of Hotel Olimpico that we could think of is, as many people pointed out, that the location isn't ideal as the area is quite run down. This made it quite difficult to find nice restaurants nearby, but as the Hotel rightly points out, they are a resort and have a lovely restaurant on site. There are some lovely places to eat in Salerno (though quite difficult to find) and there is quite a large, and very nice shopping centre (Maximall) located not too far away.

Overall we had an excellent holiday thanks in large to Hotel Olimpico, and we would recommend it to anyone looking to visit the Amalfi Coast.

We, a family of 5,stayed in Hotel Olimpico for 4 nights after 3 days in Rome. We wanted to use the hotel as a base to explore the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii and also take advantage of the hotel facilities. The hotel was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely as was the private beach. We took full advantage of the free shuttle bus which was an excellent service and even waited for us when our train was late. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day and the food was very good and the outside restaurant a lovely setting. Only issue we had was with our room which having booked a superior room we expected it to be on the first or second floor with a sea view and it turned out to be on the ground floor with not much of a view at all and was smaller than we had expected for 5 people. That said we still had a great time at the Hotel Olimpico and I would recommend it.
