“I love this place”
Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

I love everything about this place. The food is so fresh, the simple things are done right, and even the local people are really nice. There is a lovely little bar at the front to enjoy a drink while you wait for a table. In the summer you can sit outside and have a chat while you smoke a cigar and have a good pint of Guinness. If only every food and bev establishment in Ireland knew how to treat the customer... this country would be the no1 island in the world. Morans is away from Galway and off the main Galway/limerick road yet still buzzing every night. Looking forward to popping in again. And this is from a person who is not easy to impress... credit where credit is due

“Very good”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Morans Oyster Cottage is off the beaten track but worth venturing off the main road for. This fish restaurant is a lovely thatched cottage with the sea right in front of it. And the Food was great. The chowder was perfect and had plenty of fish in it. The Mussel starter is big enough to be shared and again totally delicious. Our main of fish and chip was So Good! The batter was light as a feather and the fish plentiful and tasted wonderful. . We were impressed by the waiter because he offered us a taster of a wine weren't familiar with and were pondering over. That doesn't happen often. And the price was just right. Hope to go back there sometime. Definitely recommend this place

“Oysters were very good”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

I had chowder at three different restaurants during my recent trip to Ireland and the chowder Morans won the silver but that was only because the best was practically a religious experience. The chowder here is still highly recommended. I had the roasted oysters as well and they were delicious.

“What a find! You gotta stop here!”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

It's a wonderful establishment; the perfect pub and restaurant. Have oysters and seafood chowder. There are "snugs" and a warm fire in the grate. Very inviting and most enjoyable. We didn't want to leave this piece of paradise!

“Lovely chowder”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Popped in here for a bit of lunch yesterday. We were in Galway for the weekend and multiple people had recommended we try this restaurant. After so many recommendations our expectations were high and we weren't dissapointed. Their chowder was delicious! I also had the battered prawns for my main which were also very tasty. I would definately recommend a visit to this restaurant.
