When we got off the Greyhound we noticed the shuttle bus for Dolphins drive off. We did arrive later than scheduled but they could have waited around...we had to wait about 45 minutes in the rain until the next shuttle arrived. A few people were worried that they were not going to be picked up. The hostel is located about 30 mins walk from the town centre. This is walkable both day and night but the day we arrived we did not know where to go as it was now dark and the hostel do not operate shuttles into town after 6pm. Quite frustrating as we needed to get along to the supermarket in order to get supplies for a canoe trip we were about to go on the following morning. The staff were not helpful in any way possible and often stayed up late making noise outside our room. The beach house itself is quite nice. It was being painted whilst we were there as it had fallen into a bit of disrepair. Each room has its own bathroom, common area and kitchen which other backpackers from other rooms come in and out of all the time, so security is not great, but the reason for this is that normally they are after a kitchen utensil of some sort. In most cases you will have to wash up the item you want to use first before using it - the staff I found were the main offenders with the washing up...
The location, although its 30mins to town is only a couple of mins to Sunshine Beach which is IMO the nicest beach I've been to along the East Coast. Its quiet and has some nice local shops and restaurants nearby. The ocean here has quite strong currents and medium waves, and doesn't get deep until quite far out which might be a negative for some people but I enjoyed it.

Room Tip: Nomads in town seems like the livelier place but the location of Dolphins next to the beach could be...

The Greyhound was a few minutes late getting into Noosa, but rather than wait for the three passengers they knew they were expecting the minibus was nowhere to be seen and returned two hours later. The lady at reception showed everyone to their rooms, one at a time, leaving everyone else waiting in reception.

The hostel itself wasn't particularly clean and would benefit from a fresh coat of paint. Conveniently placed for Sunshine Beach but not for the rest of Noosa (like the supermarket and other shops). Only plus is free wi-fi.

Out of all our travels, i think the person who picked us up from the Greyhound bus stop to take us to this hostel wins the award for rudest and must stuck up we have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Very late picking us up, didn't speak a word to us and drove us full speed with music outrageously loud to the hostel, then pointed to reception. What happened to 'hey how was journey girls?' Its not our fault you're not enjoying your job love. The guy on the other hand, was really lovely and took time to make small talk and show us where things were. You know, like the beach. Anyway, the hostel was ok, the staff did appear to be very unwelcoming and hostile. Strange place, wouldn't recommend it personally.

booked 2 nites here as it is top rated in lonely planet Australia . Was shocked upon arriving as it looked old. This place needs a fresh coat of paint. Facilities is so so and need upgrade. Microwave in the kitchen near our twin room was not functioning.
Swimming pool is non existence. Nearest place to swim is sunshine beach.
Internet is pay per use.
To compensate for the downside, this place is quiet and people were friendly.

I stayed in a double room in march and had not problem at all, so I decided to come back, this time staying in a dorm. What a mistake! Got bitten alive by bedbugs day 1; there was 1 toilet and shower for 8 people; couch was seriously damaged. On the flip side the location is good if you want to stay around sunshine beach. I'd recommend YHA noosa though.

We paid 90AUD for a private double ensuite. It was really a separate apartment where you shared the livingroom and kitchen and yes, had your own double bed and bathroom. The problem is, 90AUD is too pricy for the terrible condition of the apartment. I mean really terrible, yucky, almost sorid condition.

To be fair, we showed up late at night (around 10pm) and they were able to accomodate our late check in and the location is pretty awesome. Although the location is NOT in Noosa proper, but Sunshine Beach. Don't expect to be able to walk into Noosa proper but there are still awesome places to walk to in Sushine beach.

I cannot speak for the condition of the regular hostel accomodation, as we ended up staying in those apartments (don't stay there!). Also, the check out time is a firm 9:30am. This was non negotiable (even though we showed up late the night before); understandable but would have been nice.

if youre looking for a place to basically sleep and shower, then, this is it!!...when i made my reservation all they asked for was my flight and my phone number, which i thought was great coz that means im not really committed to stay there if i didnt like it...

the location is a minute or two walk from sunshine beach (there are shops along the way where you can get coffee and croissant on your way to the beach early in the morning!)...take the (free) shuttle to Noosa Heads (if you prefer that beach) or just to town to catch the bus or get some groceries...

internet is free (if you have your own laptop) but you have to pay if you use their computer...

my stay there was comfortable and i have no complaints really...although i might have been lucky because the people that were staying at the apartment where i was (on the second floor) were really good, respectable people!

Room Tip: stay on the second floor rooms...they have private balconies!
