Our Pad Thai chicken and sweet and sour pork were tasty and well cooked. The service was a little slow compared to our usual experience at Thai restaurants but we did not mind as it was a very busy weekend at Noosa with a marathon being conducted. The waitresses and counter staff were all pleasant and helpful.

We stopped into this place one night in April (after Easter) after we had walked up and down the street deciding what to eat. It looked very open and welcoming with a large family already there having a meal as well as a smaller family closer to the front. During our meal several people came in for take away and two or three more families sat down for dinner. The décor was modern and tasteful and the staff were extremely friendly.

We ordered an entree Tom Yum soup (to share) with seafood (about $8 from memory) and it was delicious! It also came quickly and with a lot of seafood for a meal of that price range, including a scallop, mussel (in the shell), prawns, calamari and fish. The flavours were so well balanced and we actually fought over who got the last mouthful!

For mains, I ordered the Massaman Curry (mild) and coconut rice. Look....I have eaten Thai many, many times (and had some really bad experiences!) but this was outstanding! The vegetables were fresh, the meat was tender and the flavours were unbelievable. There was also a very pretty garnish (also edible I'm happy to say!). My partner had the hot/spicy jungle curry (his favourite) and also rated this one as the best he had ever eaten. He did request it very hot and while some places do not actually 'go the whole way' with the spice, this place did! He was sweating and absolutely loving it.

The owner and chef also came out several times to introduce herself to her guests and ask how the food was. She also talked to everyone jovially and asked us if we would like to book in for a future event.

Overall, we found this a really great place and the only bad thing is that it is in Noosa and too far away from where we live on the Gold Coast!

Give this place a try - I did see bad reviews on there and I am at a loss as to what they are talking about. This place is located near a Chinese restaurant (on the corner) and a wine bar (and a KFC). The menu also gives information about the owner and her cooking experience. As I said, not sure how this place could ever get a bad review as I can't imagine how that lady would ever make a bad meal!

Oh and the portion sizes are huge....we had to take some home and finish it off the next day. It was also not expensive - overall, a soup and the two curry dishes plus rice came in at just over $50. Very good value and excellent quality.

Its low season just before Easter so there really aren't that many options to eat in noosa, many places are closed. We plumped for this Thai place to get takeaway. On the plus side the food was ready in 8 minutes. On the not so good side, the order was wrong (when we got home we discovered the prawns had turned into chicken), the food was ok but really just felt like filling a hole not enjoying a meal. Also the service for our takeaway was quite abrupt. After waiting by the counter for a short while, when the waitress turned to us all she said was "yes?" no hello or welcome or smile or anything...

We went to Suriyothai last night just to try something different and all six of us were very disappointed. It was so hot in there but the manager was quite reluctant to turn on the air-conditioner. We ordered our entrees and main courses but the mains came out before the entrees and one amongst us did not get his meal until after we had all finished eating. The manager was very surly and unwelcoming. We always leave a tip at a restaurant but not this time!

As any of you veg/vegans out there know - finding food that isn't crap is hard...
Veg fried rice with outstanding flavours of star anise/chilli/basil freshness = delicious..
add to this the tofu & veg stirfry and you will weep to find a decent meal that is fresh fresh fresh and you won't have any regrets...big portions too ! for these 2 dishes we paid $25 and truly there was enough food for the biggest palooka to be satisfied...i have to say that these are the only 2 dishes i have tried so far...but will be going back to try all of the vegetarian dishes...go for it :)
