“Lovely hotel in a great location”
Reviewed January 17, 2011

We had a 4 night stay at the Sebel Resort in Noosa and it was faultless. Everthing from the room itself down to the staff was excellent. We had a 1 bed apartment for the four of us. The apartment was very spacious. A well appointed bathroom with walk in shower and a jacuzzi bath too. We had a nice balcony with table and chairs for outside dining

The kitchen was excellent with good quality fittings marble worktops and combi microwave. There was a separate room which contained a washer/dryer for laundry. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. they were very helpful with information about the surrounding area.

Outside the pool area was lovely with lots of small fountains. The pool is not large but is well designed and whilst relaxing by the pool there is the constant sound of water from the fountains and almost has an Italian feel to it.

Based on Hastings Street it is an excellent location for everything from shops to the lovely beach just across the road. There are some excellent restaurants and coffee shops .

Also from Noosa it is not too long a drive to the Steve Irwin Zoo which we visited and is well worth going along to. We found Noosa to be very classy with some nice ice cream shops too !!!

We look forward to visiting Noosa and the Sebel Resort again in the near future as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was not long enough.

Great location, but definitely not luxury accommodation, so if you're used to stylish and above-average accommodation, you'll be sorely disappointed. Not an enjoyable environment in which to relax and hang out.

I rarely go to the same place twice on holiday. I’ve now been to the Sebel in Noosa three times. Both it, and Noosa Heads are wonderful. Each time I have been, has been a wonderful, relaxing and exhilarating experience. I’ll be back again! There are a lot of aspects that I love, including:

Location, Location, Location! The Sebel is right on Hastings street. It’s a short walk to the beach and the excellent Aroma’s café is just outside. Many shops and restaurants are just a short saunter away. Considering you’re also bang in the middle of the strip, the hotel is surprisingly quiet at night. The thing I can never get used to (as a European) is the dawn chorus of birds! (Speaking of wildlife, the boardwalk is superb, the last time we saw a pod of dolphins and a koala asleep in a tree.)

Facilities. The rooms are great. From the plush stone bathrooms with deep Jacuzzi baths to the small kitchen area for preparing snacks and the occasional meal. It’s all been thought through. The other great thing is the parking – it’s free and you get there form the road behind Hastings Street, avoiding a lot of traffic when it’s busy. The pools are small, but great for kids. The shallow kiddies pool is excellent for very small children. The grounds are well looked after and the lighting in the evening is spectacular.

The staff. All the staff from the receptionists to the gardeners are friendly and nothing is ever a problem. When we ask for anything it’s always done promptly and correctly. We booked our last visit months in advance and asked for a cot. Sure enough, when we arrived it was in the room, complete with bedding.

I see that some of the other reviews complain about the cost. Well, Noosa Heads is small and exclusive. There are only a handful of places to stay. If you want cheaper, they are most certainly not as nice. If you pay more, you can get more. For me, The Sebel is perfectly pitched and is therefore excellent value for money. One year we stayed on the nearby Sunrise Beach as it was cheaper. A cyclone lashed the beach and it was unsafe for swimming most days, while down on the sheltered Hastings beach, the waves were peeling in beautifully. We wish we’d paid the extra to stay at the Sebel!

We’ll be back! =)

I liked the hotel but was expecting more for the price I paid. The location is great and couldn't be any better (being on Hasting St). But the furniture in the rooms could be a lot nicer and more modern and the main pool is way too small. Also my booking said "buffet breakfast" which wasn't true as you get to choose from a limited menu in the cafe next door. Nice breakfast but definitely NOT buffet breakfast!

We (my husband, our baby and I) had a few really great days at THE SEBEL in Noosa. Room on third floor facing the neighbours was fantastic!! Located in the heart of Hastings Street. Restaurants, shops, sea/beach,... everything nearby. We would definitvely recommend these self-catering appartements for families!

Why is the Sebel Laguna on Hastings, #1 on TripAdvisor? The self contained apartment style units retail @ $379 plus taxes nightly. I can not believe this place meets anyone's expectations at that price. Whoever is paying this; they have the cash - they just prefer lack of luxury and value? Well those are two things I care about.

PROS. Parking is in included, the units let in enough natural light, you can prepare your own meals, large private balcony, large bath tub and central location.

CONS. We stepped on broken glass in the room upon arrival. Not really cleaned in the corners at all, asked repeatedly to have batteries for the remotes as they were all dead, asked repeatedly for pool towels (after the maid took the used ones and failed to replace), excessive charge for local calls and internet (services we chose not to use because of their costs), staff did not know answers to our basic questions (if you don't know, are you not suppose to find out?) The hotel has mediocre service all around. Not everything is no worries.

Overall we had a nice stay. This hotel was just OK. We were laid back and relaxing on vacation. Did not wants to "complain" to the laid back staff too many times over the same issues. We loved Australia and enjoyed Noosa. Would not return to Noosa because there is no reason to; but if we did we would choose to stay elsewhere. I recommended this properties for families with lots of cash who don't like nice things.

great central location, well equipped rooms, good size and very private (we had a basic garden apartment), parking inclusive and lovely staff . shame wifi wasn't included but you can get that at le monde cafe just down the road...
also these self catering apartments would benefit from a few basic condiments like salt and pepper and olive oil as we were only there 3 nights but were obliged to buy absolutely everything..

the noosa triathlon was on whilst we were there and it was really busy, but the staff were still extremely accommodating, i would definitely return.
