“Great location”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Great location and the staff were excellent. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and well dressed. The beds were very comfortable. Handy to all the restaurants, surf club etc. We stayed in block 3 which is good except for the early morning collection of the hotel rubbish bins very early in the morning. If you can't get back to sleep after being woken, then request another block. Other than that, would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Try and not request block 3

Myself and a few mate stayed here for the Noosa Triathlon last November and everything was great, you could walk out the front to all the shops and restaurants of Hastings Street and walk out the back to the finish of the Triathlon and criterium the day before. The room was comfortable, not massive but enough for us. The staff were very helpful and check in wasn't a drama. The pool was good too.

Great location for an apartment hotel. We used the bakery in the arcade across the road for coffee and Danish each morning which can be consumed on the boardwalk looking at the surf. Cheap and nice. Go to Gympie drive for a variety of cafes with views of the river. An apartment allows you to eat in and use the kitchen too.

A lovely room overlooking Hastings Street is exactly what we wanted from Noosa, and after our first hotel had really messed up, we checked out and moved into here for 5 nights and boy are we pleased we did.

Huge rooms with all you need for a holiday break. Just over the road from the beach and seconds away from all the bars and restaurants.

Small but lovely pool area.

Would recommend.

Our family (2 adults and 2 children, ages 2 and 4) stayed here for 5 nights in July in a superior 1-bedroom apartment. This was our second year in a row staying here, and I posted a review last year as well. We still really like the place, and would definitely consider coming back. This time, we had an apartment with balcony facing the pool, opening off the lounge area. The set-up of this room was different than last year’s.

A few of the things we liked less: The pool view was nice, but we preferred both the Hastings Street view of our balcony last year, and also that the balcony was accessible via the bedroom or the lounge. That way we could go in and out from the balcony without disturbing the kids sleeping on the sleeper sofa. This year, we had to walk past the kids to get out, and open up the cold air to them sleeping, so we didn’t use the balcony as much at night. Another difference in our apartment this year was that the sink was outside the bathroom. This was quite inconvenient, as I had to do everything to get ready for bed using light at the sink by 8pm when the kids went to bed, or do it later in the dark. We also couldn’t get up and get ready in the morning before the kid woke up, which delayed our departure on the last day a bit. So, we would prefer a room with the sink inside the bathroom, although I can imagine this would be an advantage for some. There was no view from our bedroom.

A few things we liked better: This kitchen was more updated, with newer appliances. The pool was warmer this year, and a lot more people were in it as a consequence. The outside temperature was actually colder when we were there this year than last year, but one day there were 15 people in the pool. Although there was a lot of construction around Noosa, there didn’t seem to be any at the Sebel itself.

A few other things to note: They have added a shiny new BBQ area- we didn’t use it, but that could be a draw for some. We had no trouble with the heat- it was very cold and rainy 2 of the nights we were there and we were able to warm the place up nicely. One thing to keep in mind is the heat automatically shuts off when the balcony door is open. This makes complete sense, but I kept forgetting when I took clothes out to hang them to dry or bring them in that this would shut off the heat. Our bathroom was very nice clean and comfortable, with a large shower and a separate, very comfortable tub. The main bed was very comfortable with nice linens. As last year, the sofa bed really could use replacement and was very uncomfortable.

It is so very nice to have a serviced apartment on vacation, and have someone to come in and make the beds and take care of the dishes, sweeping up sand, etc. Several days housekeeping forgot a few items, but they were very fast and friendly to bring them up when asked.

Overall, I still think the Sebel is the best of the serviced, non-beachfront apartments in Noosa and would happily stay there again. Knowing a little more about differences in the rooms, I may ask more specifically for some room features, as most of the things we liked less than last year would be purely matters of preference. Last year I gave it a 4, wishing it were possible to give it a 4.5; this year I rounded up to 5 mostly due to the lack of construction noise and the warmer pool. Another great stay!
