“Great location, much better hotel than anticipated”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

We, me my wife ans sister in law, stayed for four nights in a 2 bedroom unit.

First of all it was great to find out that parking was included in the room rate and didnt had to be paid for seperatly. This made us rent a car during this break.

Normally I dont have high expectations with Australian hotel staff, but I was impressed by the service offered here.
We arrived 1pm on the 1st of January and the helpful staff told us that our room was still being cleaned. She asked for my number and advised us to go for a stroll or lunch. 25 min the hotel called me to tell me the room was ready and suitcases where delivered to the room.

The room was #311, on the groundfloor. It had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite), a livingroom with connected kitchen. The kitchen had a dishwasher, fridge, pots and pans and all utensils one could need. On the 3rd day the dishwasher broke down and a repairman came by the next morning. The staff took care of our dishes in the meantime.

The location is great, 20meters from the beach.
Had a great stay and will return!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Sebel! The positive points:
- Prime location right on Hastings Street: close to shops, cafes and restaurants
- Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach: Fastest way is through the shops across the street but there are plenty of other beach access points.
- Friendly and courteous staff: Handled our spa and restaurant bookings fast and efficiently. Very gracious in answering our questions and meeting our needs.
- Spacious, fully-equipped apartment style rooms: kitchen with full size fridge and dishwasher, washer/dryer, stereo system with hook up for your iPod/iPhone etc underneath the TV, flatscreen TVs in the living area and bedroom, double sinks, balcony with clothesline, spa tub and plenty of closet space
- Many things to do that are within walking distance

The only negative comment I have is we took the shuttle (Henry’s Bus Service – totally fine) and the drop off is in the rear of the complex. We had to walk through the parking lot with our luggage (4 bags between 2 people, plus our regular handbags), go up the elevator (whose doors would close within seconds of opening), and then a quick walk to reception. It would have been nice to have had assistance with our bags. However, the staff member who checked us in, helped us with our luggage up to our room.

The resort has a more family friendly vibe than for a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a group of friends looking for something upbeat. Since we were looking for a relaxing time, the Sebel was great for us. Our 1-bedroom was clean and spacious for two people. For four adults, the 1-bedroom (1 bed and 1 sofa bed) may be a bit cramped so you may want to consider getting a 2-bedroom. The pool is on the small side but pretty decent and has ample chairs, however keep in mind that depending on the time of day some areas will be in the shade. I originally wanted a poolside room but realized it would’ve been noisy so I am thankful that I ended up with a room facing Hastings Street as it was more quiet and relaxing. Also since we were on the second floor, the balcony area was open, whereas the first floor balconies seemed to be fully enclosed with blinds. The hotel provides you with laundry and dishwasher detergent and beach towels. If you need more or new beach towels, just go to reception. If you plan to eat in and cook your own food, there’s a convenience store at the foot of the stairs of the Sebel or there’s a supermarket with more selection in the shops across the street (you will see it when you walk to the beach). To get to the liquor store, you walk down the stairs and make a left – it’s on the walkway to the Sheraton. They have a good selection of wine, liquor and beers. If you want to eat out, reception has a selection of menus from nearby restaurants and will book for you. Also the cafe by the entrance steps is a great place for coffee, food and people watching.

Overall, our stay was a great experience. It was my first time to Noosa and can’t wait to come back and stay at the Sebel again.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms for the open-air balcony, and for quiet rooms request for non-poolside

Stayed here for 6 nights early January in a smart one bedroom ground floor unit. With remarkable weather everyday, Noosa put on its best performance beach, sun and boating wise. To that the Sebel matched its surrounds with the quiet dignity of a hotel that delivers friendliness and efficient service without fuss. The staff at reception got on with their job of organising and hostessing with patience, answering my every enquiry with a smile and eagerness to help.

The pool areas for adults and chi;ldren were well planned and the undulating jugs of water tipped over you; very refreshing after a hot morning shopping on Hastings Street. This hotel is well located, slap bang in the middle of the major strip. The beach is across the road and there is a supermarket convenienlty located downstairs.

The fully equipped kitchen makes breakfast easy to organise if, like me, you prefer to eat in. Just relax with your muesli and coffee and eat on the balcony for a fraction of the cost of buying breakfast in the cafe.

The rooms were largesse, yet as a three storey hotel the Sebel is not too big. It is big on heart as its staff truly are, and I look forward to my next stay soon. Noosa is Paradise with a capital P, and so is the Sebel.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the pool area are the best, but the noise form the Pizza restaurant next door will t...

We stayed here on boxing day for one night (to get away from the in-laws) and found it a wonderful place for a young family. We were upgraded two a 2 bedroom apartment once the hotel staff saw we had a baby. We also forgot to bring a cot, but they quickly installed one in the apartment while we were swimming in the children's pool. The staff looked into making a dinner booking for us. The location is fanastic, the rooms very pleasant if you don't mind not having a view and the staff are very accommodating.

Traveling to Noosa, is a must. Great food, beaches, shopping. The Sebel Resort is in a prime location, but across the street from the beach. Rooms are very large, more like an apartment. Full Kitchen, dining room and living room. Large spa in bedroom, which was a bit strange. Would recommend this hotel for families. If you are a couple an want more romance stay across the street on the beautiful ocean.

The resort is relatively ok. The apartments are compacted around the centrepiece, the pool.

My biggest gripe is that I made this booking with a breakfast. We called the resort to ask about the check-in process and our booking as we were arriving Christmas eve night, in which we spoke about breakfast. We arrived Christmas eve night, and were told that the restaurant for breakfast was closed Christmas day. Fair enough; but we were a bit dissapointed we weren't told when we called and why were we offered a breakfast inclusive room if it wasn't available. The male staff member gave us two complimentary long-life meals in boxes and told us he would get the manager who would arrive in the morning to contact us.

We had no phone call and didn't follow up until late Christmas afternoon. I walked into reception and explained what happened. He stated he was the manager and promptly stated our rooms didn't include breakfast and that we'd been charged for the long-life breakfast kits to our room. I was gobsmacked by his directness and rudeness. I will admit our booking didn't show breakfast included when I pulled up the record lator on; but why did I speak to two different staff about breakfast (on phone, on arrival) who did not have the capacity to check my booking to tell me that was not the case. I don't feel the service here warrants the price; the manager seems to lack empathy and get on a bit of a high horse when he feels a customer is trying to get something for free. Alternatively the manger could of offered us breakfast included for a price and apologize for the his staff failing to pick this up on prior contacts and we would of been happy to pay.

We stayed here for 1 night only, a quick getaway & our first time in Noosa. The Sebel at Noosa is a mini version of the Sea Temple (if you've ever stayed there). All apartments surround the pool, although you may not necessarily have a pool view. The Sebel is in a Great location, right on Hastings Street, close to all shops & restaurants, with plenty to choose from. The Resort is not the Ocean side of Hastings, but the beach is about a 30sec walk, so proximity is great. The Pool is nice, although small. There are daybeds and deck chairs surrounding the pool which makes for a great place to read & just relax. Our room was spacious & the layout is comfortable. A big bathroom with a spa bath. We didn't have the best located room, it was tucked in a corner behind Reception on 'Level 1' & although we had a patio (balcony), there were blinds which we couldnt move. So we had no view & did not use the patio at all during our stay. Staff on check-in were friendly. When we later advised them we hadn't received our Bottle of Wine, they immediately brought champagne to our room on ice. Check out the restaurant infront of the Sebel, food was beautiful & our waiter was excellent.

Room Tip: Request a room on Floors 2,3 & above. Floor 1 is basically ground level.
