“A good stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

We stayed here for two nights just prior to christmas. Our apartment - 9203 if I recall correctly - was large and since it was on the lowest floor had a huge balcony. If you stay here - by all means book a "park view" room. It is very well worth the premium: In this resort, views will be either nice and private into the national park or into the interior of the resort which effectively means "no view at all" and of course limited privacy. The apartment was very well equipped and offered a dual walk in shower - something I never came across before :-). There was also a washer and a dryer. Check in was friendly and efficient. Parking was undercover which is very nice in the hot climate. Breakfast was also abundant and of very good quality - however the breakfast room could easily be a bit more stylish and accommodating - it was hotel quality breakfast with a youth hostel atmosphere: What's wrong with tablecloths and proper napkins? The walk into town was not a problem at all. Not very steep and not very long - if you don't feel like walking there was also a scheduled trolley service up and down the hill. After checking out we used the facilities for the remainder of the day and took a shower near the poolside before heading of to the airport.

What we did not like to much: For a "resort" there are just to few facilities. The pools and pool areas are way to small in particular if the resort fills up with families with small children. Also for a five star resort I consider it inopportune not to offer free internet - this was not only charged for but with a hefty price tag. Also I would expect from a resort like this, that they either replace dirty dishes or at least turn the dishwasher on when servicing the room.

Room Tip: If at all possible, book a park view room!

Stayed for 4 nights in December and chosen the room with the Forest view room. The room is spacious, the kitchen and laundry facility in the room proof to be very handy. The only downside of this room is the toilet and bathroom faces the car park which is quite noisy in the morning and you can hear people talking outside the room. Getting a room on the higher level will be ideal. The service provided by the staff at outrigger is outstanding and the shuttle to and from to hasting street helps when you are tired of driving or walking. Truly enjoy the spa experience at the Stephanies located within the resort. Give it a try if you have the time but booking in advanced in highly recommended. Overall this is a good resort to stay at noosa.

Happy New Year and welcome to 2014.

I have forwarded your comments to Ida at Stephanies in recognition of their service delivery and have thanked my staff for their efforts. We have all very much enjoyed sharing the holidays with our guests. The property has had a wonderful festive atmosphere without the intrusion of crowded lobbies and public areas.

We very much appreciate the recommendation to others and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

The resort is close to the hub of Noosa Heads but far enough away to be away from it all. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. A buggy ride is available to transport you up and down the hill, which is the only downside to the resort. The villa we stayed in was spacious and well maintained and well equipped. If we were the type of people who returned to the same holiday spot year after year we would definitely stay here again.

Good morning Graeme,

With now three years of service in Noosa, Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort and Spa has achieved a positive reputation that is indeed being rewarded with guests’ return stay year on year. Fortunately, I am also privileged to work some amazing individuals who have long tenure with the property and we are getting to know many guests personally. It is an honour to be your host and we look forward to welcoming you back well into the future.

Very happy with our 6 day stay at the Outrigger Noosa and would make this our preferred accommodation when visiting Noosa. The staff were always available to help at any time and made the stage very comfortable.

Definitely recommended!

We stayed at the Outrigger in December 2013 and found the hotel to be of a very good standard overall. I would say this is a 4.5 star establishment, the staff were very helpful friendly and informative. We stayed in a one bedroom national park view room and was lucky enough to have an apartment with a spa bath in the bathroom. Not all rooms have a bath tub. The apartment was great and had a new feel to it. Plenty of cable tv chanels & non blu ray DVD player in room for when you return from the pool or beach.

People have complained about the walk up and down the hill, it was fine and only takes a couple of minutes. Balconies lack privacy from other guests on their balconies. Buffet breakfast was fantastic and a must. I am an extremely fussy eater, but it was top notch every morning. Expresso not included and although I m not a coffee drinker, it should be. Had massage at the spa, expensive, but fantastic massage. Swimming pool was good and having the bar right there serving cocktails and food was brilliant, but a bigger pool area would be good.

Under cover parking was plentiful and other guests seem to find the different entry and exits, complicated, but it isn't. Simple, you enter and leave the establishment via the viewland drive (alma way) entry 7am to 7pm and then 7pm to 7am you enter or exit from the little Hastings street exit. I am sure its about considering the local residents.

Overall we would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: one bedroom national park view room with a spa bath in the bathroom. Not all rooms have a bath tub.

Thank you for your comments and recommendation.

I appreciate your candidness about the location from Hastings Street and our council enforced dual access; both unique, both something we go to great lengths to educate guests prior to arrival and both something we expect as points of conjecture well into the future.

Whilst both are regularly commented on within this forum, the breakfast perhaps not so much. I take the opportunity to elaborate. We are fortunate to have developed dialogue and a positive relationship with our guests. It is entirely possible for us to present a more traditional five star hotel breakfast at the $38 to $48 per person rates presented by competitors at this level. Over the three years we have operated in Noosa, it is our senior Australian Executives in board shorts, families heading off to Noosa Main Beach and couples focussed on taking advantage of the dining experiences in Hastings Street who have positioned our buffet breakfast as a daily proposition that is not cost prohibitive (at $28pp). Guests seeking more elaborate a la carte options such as omelettes and those wishing espresso coffee predominantly appreciating the charge on consumption.

Comments though this forum and our direct contact with guests will continue to see our product offering and service delivery evolve. The interaction always appreciated.

Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2014.

Good morning,

I offer an invitation to contact me personally regarding your concerns. On reviewing our duty logs and referring back to all weddings held on site over the last three months, I am unable to identify you or your booking with us. As such, I prefer not to offer a response on this public forum. Certainly, apologies are extended for any shortfalls on services contracted and not delivered.

Our congratulations on your wedding day offered and wishing you both happiness on your journey together into the future.

We arrived at the Outrigger Noosa for 2 nights in a "bay view Room" the view from the room is of the Forrest! No " Bay View in sight!"
On check in the staff showed us a map and then sent you on your way no on shows you where the room is or even how to use the facilities in the self contained apartment.
Once we entered the room the biggest shock of all, the ensuite has no door! Yes no door so if you are a new couple good luck with the privacy part. We are not a new couple but it's not that nice lying in bed whilst you can here and see you partner on the toilet!
Now to the pool area if you love loud kids who's parents have no control then this is the place for you, if not do as we did ......LEAVE.
We also had children screaming, babies crying through the night.
I was so disappointed with this place so glad to leave.

Good morning Aussiebigdog,

It is unfortunate to read here that Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort and Spa has fallen so short of your expectations. I am unable to determine from this forum through what channel you booked your accommodation but offer assurances we make all effort to clearly identify room category so guests can review prior the purchase decision. Indeed, all apartments are located within three buildings named: Pacific, Bayview and Sands; the property developer’s references I would imagine reflecting the location rather than the aspect. The Penthouse in Bayview may well have views out over Laguna Bay but all apartments are advertised as Resort (outlook into the centre or the resort) or National Park (outlook into the trees of the Noosa National Park).

Our resort does cater to a range of market segments and has been well recognised as a suitable destination for couples. With a booking during the Christmas school holidays and over 400 guests onsite the interaction with children poolside is inevitable. The crying of babies something our guest service managers will attend under our property by-law obligations but is obviously a matter dealt with under ethical, moral and legal interpretation. Certainly regrettable both issues have caused you such great inconvenience during your stay with us.

Whilst unable to remedy your past experience, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you directly apartment allocation should the opportunity present for your return to stay with us in Noosa.

Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts and presenting the opportunity to respond.
