“Nice hotel in Noosa, but there is room for improvement”
Reviewed April 30, 2011

I recently stayed at Outrigger, Little Hastings Street in Noosa for a three day vacation. The hotel, or resort, is a pretty nice place, positioned good with a few hundred meters to the beach, the shopping at Hastings Street and with their own entrance to the national park. Noosa is really a nice place, and the hotel puts you in a good position to reach the different parts of it. As other reviewers mentions, the hotel is situated up on a hill which is about a 5-10 minutes walk from everything. They have however resolved this with a buggy that both can deliver you down, as well as pick you up if you give the concierge a call. We never tried it, but it seemed effective with many other guests using it.

The hotel itself is actually pretty nice. It has a good looking pool with sun loungers and a poolside bar (but only open 1 out of three days during our stay). There is also a smaller lap pool. The rooms are nice, and spatious, with amenities like a lcd tv in the living room, and a small lcd in the bedroom, both with a good selection of channels. The bed is comfy, and there was quiet at night. We had no bathtub but two(!) good pressure showers. There's also a big terrace connected to the living room with a sun lounger and a seating area. Finally, there's a kitchen for people who like to cook for themselves.

The night at our arrival we were checked in promptly, we also received a call before arriving about which entrance to use (there are two), which I think was a nice touch. As we arrived late (9 pm) I had earlier checked Outrigger's website for food options, and it stated that the restaurant was open from 6pm for dinner, I mistakenly understood this as the restaurant would be open when we arrived, but they closed at 9 pm, leaving us not much choice but to have room service, which was a little dissapointing. The room service food was, to their defence, pretty nice though. The other nights the restaurant (which is also the bar) also closed at around 9, even on a Friday. In my mind, a good hotel needs to have some kind of bar or restaurant open late, especially when it's a bit away from other options. The check out time is 10 am, which is too early, we tried to have it extended an hour or two, but it was not possible.

I am really having a hard time to make up my mind about the hotel, but to summarize: I think Outrigger Little Hastings Street can be a great place - as a previous reviewer stated, they are basically a really nice hotel to stay at, but they lack a few small things making the experience five star.

Dear Pakk, Thank you so much for devoting your time to write a detailed review on your recent experience at the resort. Every Friday morning, the management team to go through all reviews and guest feedback and I will certainly raise the question on why the restaurant was closed at 9.00pm as this should not be the case. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention and on behalf of the entire team, our sincere apologies for not meeting expectations in some areas. I trust we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to Noosa. Kindest regards, Alex Chapman, General Manager.

What can I say? As soon as we stepped out of the taxi the service started and didn't stop until we checked out. The concierge was super-friendly and showed us to our room in a golf buggy. The room, a one-bedroom apartment, was fantastic. The furnishings in the rooms were excellent and I couldn't fault anything at all. We had everything we needed including a laundry with Washer and drier, secluded balcony with forest view, Smeg and Fisher and Paykel appliances (I was impressed with the dishwasher) and a super comfy king bed.

The resort itself had so much to offer, we could've holed up there for 5 nights. The golf buggy service was amazing and so quick to arrive. Loved the lap pool and how quiet it was. The resort pool was great too, more family oriented with a pool bar. The breakfast was OUT OF THIS WORLD. My boyfriend and I were staggered by the variety - I have honestly never had a hotel breakfast like it!

The resort is quite spread out which makes it feel very big, but the staff make you feel like the only guests there.

I would recommend this resort to anyone for any purpose - I will be going back for sure. Thanks to all the team at Outrigger for a fantastic stay!

Room Tip: Get the golf buggy. Don't skip breakfast

We love almost everything at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly. Room was clean, great king size bed, with double shower space (2 shower heads), a nice balcony. The location was right off hasting street, where all the shops and cafes are. Beach was just a stroll away too. We love that we have a choice of taking the buggy to the main street when our 3 years old doesn't feel like walking. Overall - we love this place, would recommend to others and would definitely come back again.

The only negative thing I can think of was our room wasn't cleaned at all for the whole 3 days stay, I'm not too sure what happened, but it didn't really bother us this time anyway.

Dear Kelenmelisa, Thank you for devoting your time to write a review on your recent experience at the resort for which I will certainly share the positive comments to the entire team. I'll also investigate as to why your room wasn't serviced in the three days as this is unusual and from the entire team here, our sincere apologies for not meeting expectations in this area. We look forward to welcoming you back to Noosa in the not too distant future. Kindest regards, Alex Chapman, General Manager.

Having stayed a few 5 star resorts around the world, outrigger little Hastings is pretty good, but a few things really let it down.

The rooms are great, massive and modern and nice touches around the room. Lack of views really let the rooms down, with the rooms crammed together like sardines and the only view is of the other unit blocks.

The resorts pool is not upto that of a "5 star resort". the resort has a lap pool and the main pool is a small lagoon style which is busy with kids most of the time.

The resort only has 1 restaurant and no bar. Little things like when we ordered 2 cocktails which cost $30,had no garnish, no fruit etc just a cocktail in a glass. Little touches like that let this place down.

Buffet breakfast was ok, good variety without being fantastic.

Coffee was horrible and we could not drink it.

Overall the rooms are great, good location but perhaps we would think twice next time before we handover our $600 to stay at this "resort"

Beautiful resort with absolutely fantastic staff.
We were looking for a resort which would offer a relaxing weekend away. That is exactly what we got. The room was spacious, well designed, with a huge deck over looking the rain forest. We could hear the water running in the creek below & birds chirping, while still being a short stroll (or speedy shuttle trip) to Hastings St.
The staff were superb. This is appears to be an extremely well managed property with staff who enjoy their job and know how to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Best room service we have ever experienced ! We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Dear DebsTravelTip, I enjoyed reading your positive review and thank you for devoting the time to provide feedback. It is common feedback that guests enjoy being so close to Hastings Street (short walk or golf buggy ride) and yet can return to the delightful setting nestled amongst the Noosa National Park. We all look forward to welcoming you back to Noosa in the not too distant future. Kindest regards, Alex Chapman, General Manager

I had a trip with friends in a 3 bedroom villa for 5 days. Being only 6 months old, the resort is very new and fresh. Resort is well laid out, rooms are great but the staff were the best part of the trip. Special mention goes to Bryce, Pete and Chris who could help us with any query. If they did not know the answer off the top of their head, they found out immediately including restaurant reviews and full menus. The shuttle service from Hastings Street up to our room or vice versa was fantastic. The boys would drop what they were doing to collect us. Pool is nice, but a little on the small side for a large resort but that didnt bother us. Overall, a great trip with great friends at a great location.

Just returned from 3 nights in the Outrigger Little Hastings St and I must say it was one of the most enjoyable holidays I have ever had. What made it stand out was the Staff. From the moment we checked in every Staff member we met was helpful, courteous, friendly and most of all happy. They were not in-your-face all the time, but say whenever we would be looking for a map, a buggy ride or a beach towel, one of the happy young guys or girls would seemingly pop out to meet our needs and have a chat, without ever being overly gratuitous. And they knew the Noosa area well so gave us some great tips on what to see & do.
The resort itself was what we expected & we were not disappointed. It is new so therefore very clean and has all the mod cons. The room was great, the restaurant excellent & there was a nice pool. For us it was an easy stroll from Hastings St but the buggy service was always available when we felt like a ride.
I'm sure other resorts have similar facilities but do they have the staff with this attitude? We'll go again...
