I seen there was a customer who sent in a review on room number 19 at On the Beach Noosa, I was motivated to write this as I have stayed in this room and loved it, it has a lovely view and I love the shower, very romantic. I loved the place so much I plan to go back again. I do understand how we all have different taste but if I go back I would not mind having the same room as we were very happy.

Room Tip: I do not believe there is one in this establishment that you will not be happy with.

Firstly, let me state the positives: the location is excellent, right in the middle of Hastings St and it is right "On the Beach"; Bistro C downstairs is awesome; reception staff are nice and friendly and the pool and spa is fine.
I am told many of the rooms are different but Unit 19 is bizarre. Despite being superbly located you have almost no view due to the shape of the unit. The bedroom is at the back of the unit and you have no view from the bedroom, the bathroom is weird, there is no door to it and then the shower is in the middle of the room (you think I exaggerate but I kid you not!). This blocks all light and flow, you might think if you got views from the shower that would be a bit cool but you don't as there is no exhaust fan and hence no view. The living area is ok but it too is offset from the view. I understand the royal rooms are nice as they have better views. It seemed such a waste of an awesome location to have these bizarre shaped rooms that have butchered with the design. Unit 19 is also quite outdated and could do with a refit (at least every 10 years or so). Lots of other apartment blocks seem to have nice views so I recommend either booking these or ensuring you are very explicit when asking for a unit at "On the Beach".
Reception staff were helpful however, the cleaning service completely missed our room one day despite a "Please Make up my Room" sign.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Unit 19 or the corner rooms, try and get a royal room or stay somewhere else.

This is our thirteenth consecutive year at On The Beach. We visit Noosa every year for the Sports Festival and prior to discovering OTB had stayed in several venues with varying degrees of success. Over the years many of our friends progressively switched to OTB so that now we occupy pretty well the whole of level one for 5 days. In recent years we have taken suite 15 which is spacious and beautifully appointed - we feel as if we have come home when we check in each year.
It's often the little touches that make a difference. The lovely Scottish lady, Ann, who manages the property always rings us a few days before we are due, to find out our arrival time, so that she can have our room ready for us even if we come before normal check in time. Late check outs are usually no problem. A welcoming bottle of champagne, a newspaper delivered every morning and free videos are a nice touch and the rooms are well maintained and fitted out.
We hold a party each year and extra glasses and plates are put at our disposal.
The location is unsurpassed – fronting on to the beach, in the middle of the action in Hasting St. Sound proof glazing ensures that outside noise is not a problem when sleeping and a spacious balcony is wonderful for watching the dolphins and whales which parade the beach.
It takes a lot to get me excited about accommodation choices but this one is a real corker. They even have a rational internet policy where you can buy a number of hours for a very reasonable price and the hours can be used as and when you want. Good wireless repeaters right through the building too so no dead spots.

My husband and I have been coming to Noosa for 6 years and have been staying at On The Beach around twice a year for 5 of those years. We have tried other places here and there, but always come back to On The Beach. We always stay in room 13 on the first level - all open plan apartment with a terrace overlooking main beach complete with sun-lounges and spa bath. We prefer these rooms to the more expensive penthouse or higher level rooms which have roof top terraces, which you have to climb a staircase to get to. When we stayed last time we sadly thought that it would be our last time - i was 35 weeks pregnant and assumed that On the Beach wouldn't be family friendly, we were so wrong!!! We have just spent a wonderful 2 weeks in their 2 bedroom apartment. Different to the room we usually stay in as it is the only apartment that faces Hastings Street and not the beach, but it has a large kitchen, 2 big bedrooms both of which can have king sized beds if you wish, and a roof top terrace complete with spa bath. The best thing about On the Beach (apart from the amazing location of course) is the always friendly, nothing is too much trouble service. Ann and her staff are just wonderful. They arranged the hire of a cot and high-chair and it was all set up and ready to go when we arrived. After the first day house-keeping clued onto the fact that our baby would sleep from 9.30-11 so they would do our service after that. The accommodation is so incredibly clean, and it has always been like that. Everything is absolutely spotless. The pool is a perfect temperature, and again, so clean!!
I really can't rave about On the Beach enough. We tell all our friends to stay there and will continue to stay for many many years to come. Thank you Ann and team for always making our holidays so special!!

Room Tip: Level 1 rooms are all on one level - no stairs to climb to get to BBQ or spa. Mention you have a bab...

My wife and I spent 4 nights here to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary in what they describe as a "one bedroom open plan penthouse". With a rate of over $400 a night we expected 5 star but were disappointed. It is right on Noosa beach but the rooms are set on an angle to the beach so there is no beach panorama view - much of the view is blocked by a side wall. The internal layout of the "Penthouse" apartment is small and really disappointing too - the bathroom is open plan right next to the bed so impossible to use duting the night without disturbing your partner and a small kitchenette but no dining table (no room for one).

Most disturbing is the lack of sound proofing of the entry door which opens right next to the bed. There is no excuse for not fitting a hotel-style door that minimises the sound from people talking in the hallway outside.

All the basics are provided but don't expect a true beachfront penthouse experience - really just a large hotel room.

If you want to spoil yourselves or you are celebrating a special occasion or you just like 5*, then this is it! We rented the Royal Suite which was just gorgeous! These apartments are privately owned, so they do vary slightly; ours was magnificent. Very clean, very comfortable bed, outside hot-tub spa baths, private roof-top terrace to sunbath on with breathtaking views, underground parking, big flat-screen TVs in both lounge and bedroom, Wi-Fi worked fine and basic kitchen. Shady pool and gate straight onto the beach. Steam room (didn't use) and tiny gym (more like a fitness room with 3 machines in it) On the ground floor is Bistro C (superb for b/fast, lunch or dinner) plus a burger bar. Smells of burger and chips did keep wafting up during the day, which just made us feel hungry and Bistro C has a Cuban night on a Wednesday, so the music is loud but only until 10pm. Staff were pleasant and came to the rescue at 11pm one night when the door security system failed and we were locked out. In summary: big bucks, but you get what you pay for. We had a fabulous week of R & R. Thank you to Anne and team - good job!

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel in a Royal Suite in May. The room was clean, well presented and light, with a lovely balcony overlooking the main beach, with great views. We found this very relaxing. There was also a hot tub on the balcony that overlooked the beach also. These apartments have a well equipped kitchen, so are great for self catering, but a daily service is offered as well. Close to everything, with Hastings St on the doorstep. A lovely Scottish family run the place and are friendly and helpful with every request. The pool area is nice and private also. I would definately recommend this hotel, particularly for couples. If I had to pick a fault, it would be the slow internet, and the matresses could do with changing they sagged a little in the middle, but really, that is being picky. A great stay and a great hotel.
