We booked in to Chalet #4 for 2 nights to celebrate a special occasion and special it was.
If you are looking for a quiet, well fitted out, very clean chalet with fantastic views then Scarlet Woods is the place. These 2 bedrooms chalets would be great for families, friends travelling together wanting some rest and relaxation but also great for romantic getaways.
This small (a total of 4 chalets) family run business knows how to provide excellent accommodation and service. Those little extra's make the difference like a comfortable large sofa, large flat screen TV, thick fluffy towels, heated towel rack, large shower cubical with huge rain shower, toiletries provided, good quality kitchen appliances and kitchen utensils, dishwasher, BBQ, wood fire stacked and ready to light, comfortable beds, good lighting, large timber deck, spa on the deck and breakfast supplies. The chalet was impeccably clean.
The chalet was well designed with large floor to ceiling windows in the lounge area making the most of the views, the 2 bedrooms on either side of the lounge area, a separate toilet, a door from the bathroom out into the spa area so you can jump out of the spa and go straight into the bathroom and a large timber deck.
The chalet was air-conditioned but the wood fire made for a lovely atmosphere and kept the chalet warm.
The view from Chalet #4 down the valley was amazing and we could sit on the comfy sofa and view the valley from the large windows. We loved having our breakfast out on the deck taking in the view and listening to the birds. Sitting in the warm spa at night looking up at the stars was amazing.
Amanda was very helpful recommending a cake shop (Bello Torta in Manjimup) for me to order a cake and it was delicious.
The following breakfast supplies are provided in the chalet: large box of muesli, 1 litre milk, 1 litre 100% orange juice, large loaf of bread, butter, jams, tea and coffee.
The chalets do not have any shops or restaurants nearby so we stopped in at Woolworths Manjimup to pick up some food on the way to Scarlet Woods. Woolworths Manjimup is a new large supermarket with good quality products. It is about a 20 minute drive to either Manjimup, which is the largest town in the area, or Pemberton. We had a great lunch in the Millhouse Cafe in Pemberton.
It is worth stopping in at the Tourist Information Centre in Manjimup or Pemberton to collect some great information and maps of the local forests and activities, all provided for free.
Thank you Amanda, Gavin & Stuart for a beautiful holiday destination with excellent chalets and great service. We can not wait to return for some more rest and relaxation.
