“Great value in central Pemberton”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

We stayed here overnight on our way up from Denmark to Perth. With 40 degrees outside the hotel room was a cool haven. The property is clean, comfortable and great value. Rooms are huge with vaulted ceiling. There's a bar fridge that is mainly empty so you can store your stuff from the esky in there overnight. There's also a little table and chairs if you want to have a meal in the room. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub downstairs. Certainly nothing special about the food, but the pub is very cosy and the lady behind the bar was cheerful and generous with an impromptu wine tasting.
The location of this hotel makes it ideal for exploring the region. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for two nights over the recent long weekend. I would say that this is probably one of the nicer Best Western hotels in a country town. I think there was a recent renovation done when Best Western took over the old Pemberton Hptel, but I stand corrected on that. The exterior of the hotel looks pleasant, and the room looked pretty new. The only thing not upgraded is probably the tiled bathroom floor but that is fine. Our room had a comfortable big bed and a single bed. it had a flat screen tv, a small table and two chairs, iron board, cupboard, electric kettle on a relatively spacious bench, hair dryer and such. it is more than adequate for a couple of nights stay.

The car park was ok but the internal ones were pretty limited and tight if you driving a large car. but it's ok.

kudos for offering free wifi but unfortunately, the signal drops out very often and pretty unreliable. it works better if you were in the lobby area or standing near the front door. But at least Best western tried to provide free wifi, which is great.

We had a meal at the hotel restaurant and the food was pretty good. I had the whole pan fried trout which was delicious and reasonably priced at $25.90. my partner had the fried mixed seafood and it was nice and generously portioned. The only snag is that we had to wait an hour for our food despite the restaurant not looking too full when we arrived, but it did quickly fill up. thank goodness for the free flow complimentary salad bar with pasta salad, coleslaw, beet root, etc.

all in all I would stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it.

We stayed here for one night after driving on from Margaret River where a 2 night minimum booking was required at most places - perhaps because of school holidays. We decided to head on and take pot luck and were glad we did. The motel is not 'luxury' but doesn't pretend to be. The staff were all so nice, the room spotless and not too squeezey, plenty of hot water and towels and good quality bed linen. The motel is attached to the nice old pub - a very pleasant spot to sit outside and have a drink.
Oh - I too had the roast beef that evening and I found it yummy and good value!

We stayed here with friends & both couples had the spa rooms. Lucky for us we had the bottom room which we never had any noise from out side but we did have the A/C going & had one of the best sleeps in a motel for a long time. Our friends above us said they heard when the Hotel closed with a few children running around, but not a thing from our room. The king bed was comfy & the pillows were a pleasant surprise, just right & plenty of them. The spa rooms are the opposite end of the hotel which could explain why. The room was clean & tidy & the only downfall was the kitchen was a little out dated. The spa was just the normal rectangle bath tub type, which really couldn't fit too many people, maybe room for 1. The room also had a lounge for a more relaxing stay. The service was friendly & the meal at the hotel adjoining was massive & to top it off, breakfast which also was fit for a king was included in our package of wine & chocolates . No complaints in the food area at all, maybe a little under the pump at peak hour but nothing to bad. Roast of the day was huge & the mixed grill, agree the pasta was average & the Barra was enjoyable. All patrons were very friendly which made a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend a stay in this lovely quaint township.

On a recent 10 night trip to the south-west of WA, this was the only motel we used for accommodation, and this only because the B&B's we favoured were booked out well before our travel time. Being a Best Western, we knew it would be of an acceptable standard, but I must say that our expectations were well exceeded by a very large and more than acceptable well appointed room, with an exceptionally comfortable King Sized bed.
We had booked a room on the upper floor of this two storey motel, so were aware that there is no lift and would have to carry our luggage, so this may be an issue for some, but it was worth it to have a very pleasant view of forest albeit on the other side of the highway. However overnight traffic was very light and did not disturb our sleep.
There is a very reasonable dining room for both breakfast and dinner, though we didn't personally use it at breakfast, and the motel adjoins the old Pemberton Hotel with more dining options available there.
Reception staff were helpful and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in this wonderful part of the south-west, in fact we would have loved an extra night as there was so much to see and enjoy in beautiful Pemberton!

We stayed one night on the top floor. Early morning someone's phone conversation just outside our room and footsteps on the wooden floor verandah woke us up. I find the room too dark especially the area for making coffee. Restaurant food below average, pasta did not taste good, soup was ok. Staffs in the kitchen are nice.

I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms. I stayed in a deluxe suite which was sizeable and very clean.

Drinks in the bar were very pricey (Standard for WA) at $18 for a beer and a glass of wine.

We also ate in the restaurant which was equally as expensive. $40 for a surf and turf which consisted of a very cheap cut of steak, a few prawns and a bowl of frozen veg. Not enjoyable at all and took far to long to arrive!

Final point is the noise factor. I struggled to get much sleep as there were wooden steps / decking outside my room and also the road noise out front..

In summary, I wouldn't recommend.. There are better options in and around Pemberton that are far better value for money.
