“Best Curries ever”
Reviewed November 17, 2011

On our recent visit to the restaurant we had the most beautiful curries we have tasted for a while. they are always good there, however, this time they were succulent. The Fish curry was to die for as were the others.

“What a surprise!”
Reviewed November 15, 2011

Whilst staying at the Gloucester Lodge, we enjoyed two nights dining in Sadie's. On night 1, I enjoyed the Marron with a very light almost Thermidor sauce accompanied by seasonal vegetables which were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The presentation was truly amazing with the vegetables cut decoratively and presented like jewels next to the beautifully tender Marron. my husband enjoyed a steak with pepper sauce and the same vegetables. The steak was medium and was melt in the mouth tender. on night 2, I enjoyed an authentic Lamb Korma with saffron rice and condiments prepared by the Indian chef. it was absolutely mouthwatering and just the right amount. my husband enjoyed the "Surf and Turf" which was actually a beautiful steak topped with a Marron cut in half and served with a red wine jus to the steak and a light cream sauce to the Marron. Again, seasonal vegetables accompanied but totally different to the previous night but just as decorative and tasty.
The service was friendly and helpful, not quite silver service but a lovely addition to the excellent food. The wine list was adequate as was the desert list which we couldn't avail ourselves of as we were too full but we did observe some amazing desserts coming to other tables which were consumed with gusto! I advise you make a booking because the restaurant was full on a Monday night!

“Great meal”
Reviewed November 6, 2011

My wife and I dined at Sadie's in the Gloucester Motel for dinner during our recent stay in Pemberton. The largish restaurant was well presented and well patronised. Linen tablecloths added to the ambience and the service was friendly and efficient. Sadie's offered flexible dining options and presented both a la carte and bar menus and a reasonable wine list. I had a steak and my wife enjoyed the whole baked trout, both excellent meals. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have the time to make a return visit.

“Good eats”
Reviewed September 14, 2011

We had a lovely meal at Sadie's while visiting Pemberton. We turned up on a Monday night with no booking and had no trouble getting a table. Sadie's has an Indian cook on staff, so my spouse chose the curry of the day, Beef Vindaloo ($24) which he said was spicy and excellent. It was served with rice, paratha and condiments.

I had the Pan Seared Chicken stuffed with camembert and spinach and topped with mango salsa, accompanied with vegetables - it was very good ($28).

Neither of us expected such good food in a small town motel. The white linen tablecloths were a real surprise.

Our only regret was that we went to the Pemberton Hotel Bistro the following night...we should have returned to Sadie's.

“motel food restaurant prices”
Reviewed September 5, 2011

Pemberton was not exactly ablaze when we stayed early September. No choice as far as restaurants were concerned and we decided to ignore our trepidation and book the local Motel restaurant for our dinner...
Food okay ... service good ... price... well we didnt think it worth $45 for a so called jumbo marron...
