“It’s the small things!”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We stayed for a long weekend in winter 2012. First thing to note about the Marima Cotteges is they are 13 kms out of Pemberton. We were aware of this and for us it was part of the attraction, but I noticed a cranky comment in the visitors book where they hadn’t done their research and didn’t realise the bush setting.

We were arriving late, which is where the small things began. When we arrived, we opened the door to find a sweep of hot air as the pot belly had been lit for us and was roaring. We settled in and went to bed to find the electric blankets had been turned on for us. Other small touches are heated towel rails, NATIO products and loose leaf tea and coffee with plunger…. Which was enjoyed watching the kangaroos and by the pot belly.

The location is on the way to one of the climbing trees. The only downfalls (although it’s an attraction in my view), is there is no TV reception, so bring along a DVD if you like to watch TV. The other downfall was there was no milk provided.

The Chalet was clean and the linen smelt beautiful. We stayed in Jesmond and will visit again

Thank you for your kind comments regarding Jesmond and we will have the fire roaring for you again when you return...let's hope it is Winter this year and we will make sure there is some fresh milk for you both.

We recently spent a wonderful two nights at one of the deluxe cottages at Marima Cottages near Pemberton. The whole experience was very enjoyable. Marina welcomed us warmly, helped us pick out a great local wine at the wine shop, and gave us good advice on some nearby hikes and activities. We opted for the breakfast option at a small extra cost and were glad we did so we could wake up each morning and prepare a hearty meal. Our cabin was nice and cozy with the wood burning stove and ample supply of fire wood. The cabins are clean and well equipped. The kitchen and bbq made it easy to pick up food and make dinner at home. Just before sunset we enjoyed a stroll through a field full of kangaroos just behind the cabin. In the evenings we relaxed and watched some of the movies provided. The location is not too far from Pemberton, close to a number of pleasant shorter hikes, and the Bi-Centennial tree. Pemberton itself is a charming little town. The Holy Smoke gourmet food shop makes excellent sandwiches and had a good selection of home-made smoked goods. We hope to return again to Marima Cottages next time we are in Western Australia. There's no cell service at the cabins but we managed by checking everything from Pemberton and other destinations. The wine shop near the entrance to the property has a signal and we pulled into the parking lot there a few times to load our emails as well.

This is our home away from home. My husband and I have been coming here for over 10 years together. We only missed one yearly visit and we felt like we had missed something!
There are new features to the chalet...a wonderful De Longhi coffee maker, a fabulous shower head and new linen in the bedrooms. Just lovely homely touches, a wonderful painting from local artist in our bedroom. Soon there will be new lounges and the television is going to be mounted on the wall. We love it there and enjoy the company of the kangaroos, most of which had joeys poking their heads out. If you want to unplug completely from the rat race, no traffic, no phones phone reception at wine centre for your mobile if you are really desperate :) it really is very tranquil, you are deep within the forest and the air is rich and earthy and you will be visited by many splendid fairy wrens and scarlet robins that are coming out now for mating season so have your camera ready. Enjoy a walk to the Bicentennial tree from the property on marked trails. Enjoy the wine centre with it's huge choice of local wines, produce and a very friendly labrador called Ali. The owners are wonderful people and very friendly and will do everything to make your stay enjoyable.

Room Tip: The Nelson chalet has a King size bed that has a window that looks into the trees. The lounge is sun...

We stayed here for a week and it is a great place. The chalets are set in a beautiful forrest location away from all the hassle of everyday life, giving you the peace and quiet to relax and enjoy yourself. Marima Cottages are surrounded by Warren National park where there are some beautiful walks including the river loop walk which we especially enjoyed. There is also the wine centre on the property which gives a great selection of local wines and some soft drinks. We would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Thank you for our lovely stay at the cottages, Marina.. it was so very peaceful!! The setting is gorgeous and the cottage is well equipped, with everything we needed... would have been nice to hear the radio, with the up dates of fires going on but got to watch movies. the wildlife and had some great meals too!! The wine centre before you get to your cottage is lovely as well, great products in this lovely building.. Marina made us feel very welcomed, lovely lady... loved the kangaroos.... first time ever saw a baby roo jump out of its mothers pouch , hop around and then jump back in to bed, so cute..! Pemberton is awesome in sights with the magical trees!

Room Tip: watch out for the wildlife
