From arrival until now, day 2 sat at the kitchen table with my complimentary Nespresso and a cookie, has been a wonderful experience. Warm welcome, great cheese, fruit, pate, bread and crackers last night. Very good own branded sparkling wine and a BBQ tonight. The decor is fantastic, wood floors throughout, sheep skin rugs, plush dressing gowns, beverage packed fridge where the beer is cheaper than Perth. Breakfast this morning started with a huge serve of fruit, yoghurt, muesli then fresh orange and a berry smoothie rounded out with bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, toast, croissant, tend and coffee.
Free wifi in case you can't stand staying in touch ! Some of the previous reviews about Stonebarn are very unfair, if you want a standard boring, small roomed, motel style stay with pool don't come to Stonebarn. If you want spoiling then do stay here.

My wife and I just returned from a few days at Stonebarn and it was one of our favorite experiences in our travel throughout the world to date. Thank you to the wonderful staff and owners for the opportunity to enjoy the most wonderful base from which to explore one of the most beautiful regions on the planet.

Our weekend stay at the Stonebarn was just the break we needed in our hectic life. The tranquility of the location and the gorgeous French architecture of the Stonebarn were two of the many things to remember. The jarrah wood interior breaths quality and class which also features in the rooms. The rooms are stylish with a quality bed and bathroom. The days were spent relaxing on the lovely varandah and fishing in the dam. We even caught some trout and a Pemberton marron!
One thing we must mention was the bushbath. All aspects were thought of by the wonderful staff- candles, champagne and bubbles in the bath of course. Nothing is more relaxing than lying in a warm bubble bath looking at the tree tops, listen to the birds and sipping champagne. Even the rain and prospect of incoming storm could not get us out of the bath and return inside.
All in all, a very memorable break. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to escape the busy city life, recharge the batteries and feel rejuvenated. We will definitely be back!

My Wife and I stayed at stonebarn for a weekend to celebrate our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier. What an amazing place! No expense has been spared. Wonderful staff, wonderful location. We'd recommend it to anyone heading down south... but book early as they are becoming very popular.

This was a sad experience; so many resources have been spent to create a wonderful environment and location, and it is all wasted because of poor onsite management. Change manager and build a pool and this will be a great place to visit.

....we checked out a day early! This place is struggling on our view. The concept doesnt seem to have taken off. It seems almost unlimited money has been spent developing this but something is not OK now? Our comments are as follows: i) too regimented for meals with no choice of time or menu. ii) no view from room when seated...just a blank wall. Frustrating, as the bush environment is beautiful. iii) although the building is attractive it is not conducive to relaxing in the guest areas - no privacy as each is a thoroughfare. iv) no mobile or internet reception available. v) staff do try but just not what one would expect for the rate. Seemed to be all new staff. vi) room servicing somewhat hit and miss. There is other accommodation in this area where we have stayed that way surpasses Stonebarn. This may suit some, but just 'not our cup of tea'!

Stonebarn is not the sort of hotel that the out of date guides purport it to be. We struggled in with our suitcases up 2 flights of wooden stairs. When we asked if there was a swimming pool we got shown the dam to swim in which is full of Marron and did not look at all inviting. The Mr & Mrs Smith guide sung the praises of the chef Xavier and his wife who left years ago. It was a struggle to get a meal but we were told it would be 7 oclock and there was no choice of menu - you had what you were given! I also think they are going to stop doing evening meals and if that is the case you are 3kms from a proper road and probably have to go to Pemberton for a restaurant which is at least 30 mins away. Breakfast again - no buffet to choose from and an average cooked breakfast.
We went to bed extremely early as there was nothing to do there and found the plumbing noisy and could hear the room next doors plumbing too.
There was a small balcony but you had to stand on tiptoe to see out and you couldn't actually sunbathe on it or even sit on it.
We really felt that it fell considerably below expectations and as it was near the end of our 7 week trip we had lots of lovely hotels and lodges to compare it to. We were very disappointed and really quite angry that it was understaffed and overpriced.
We felt quite sorry for the Manager who was a nice fellow and obviously embarassed and he actually called it Faulty Towers - I rest my case.
