Outstanding accommodation in a forest setting surrounded by bird life and the occasional kangaroo. Tracy is the perfect host - friendly, welcoming and a brilliant cook!!! Her gourmet breakfast is awesome.
A big bonus was the free WiFi connection - great for catching up on your emails.
Will definitely return!!

This was, indeed, a splendid experience. Tracy couldn't have been more welcoming, the room was spacious and had all the extras we could dream of and the breakfast and evening meals were beyond compare. A true gem - for lovers of the countryside and especially birds - the name says it all!

Room Tip: Just two rooms and both delightfully quiet.

If you are looking for a quiet country retreat in the forest with a view of a starlit sky on the verandah at night, this is it!

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely peaceful B&B situated just less than 5 min drive from the town of Pemberton. Many of the area's attractions are just a short drive away- the Gloucester & Centennial tree & walks, big brook dam, Karri forest explorer, Pemberton Tram etc. The Lavender Berry farm famous for it's yummy berry pancakes is also just a short drive down the road.

We especially appreciate the warm hospitality of the host - Tracy was really helpful in planning our sightseeing journey around the area & even for our drive up to Margaret River. She is also an avid cook & takes pride in preparing the most delicious cooked breakfast for us every morning. She even plucked the spinach she grew from her own vegetable garden to cook me the eggs florentine that i requested. We also enjoyed the dinner of trout she prepared for us on request for our 2nd night stay - food in pemberton town is limited at night & we had wait 1 hour for our dinner at the Pemberton Hotel restaurant on our 1st night stay.

There are only 2 guest rooms in the B&B. Our room was spacious clean & very comfortable. Despite being in the middle of the forest, it had all the necessities of a 5 star hotel room. The toilet was clean with a good sewage system & hot water for shower was readily available. You can see the host took pride in the B&B in the furnishings & decoration of the place- there was even a Teddy bear "welcoming" us on the bed when we arrived. The guest lounge was accesible throughout the day & had filtered drinking water, comfy sofas, a large seletion of DVDs, tea & coffee & biscuits.. it really felt like we were staying at a friend's home yet with the freedom & space to call our own.

Last but not least, Gomez, the host's black dog was such a darling & so obedient. He greeted us happily when we return from our sightseeing & never once did we hear him bark.

So glad we did not skip Pemberton on our way from Albany to Margaret River! Will definitely be back to this lovely place! :)

We stayed 3 nights at A Splendid Wren and were spoilt with Tracey's lovely food! We were able to order cooked breakfasts every night and she also had a little dinner menu which was top-class - we ate there 2 nights out of 3 and I doubt whether you could get better food in Pemberton town. Tracey used to be a sous chef and it shows - she is also an excellent hostess and made us feel very welcome.
There are 2 rooms with ensuites which are annexed to the side of the house, as well as a guest lounge with a wood fire, couches, TV and also kettle, microwave, biscuits etc. The rooms were quite big with walk-in robes and the ensuites had heat lamps which was great. There is also air-con & heating in the rooms as well as a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee etc. The TV's in the rooms were very small and could only be used for DVDs, but you could watch satellite TV channels in the guest lounge.
The B&B is only about 4-5km from Pemberton so a very short drive, and it is in a tranquil bush setting with lots of birds flitting about Tracey's lovely gardens. We would certainly recommend it, especially for couples.

Hello Rachel! TY for your glowing review. I noticed that you only put 3/5 for the rooms but your description sounds 5/5! I would welcome any suggestions on how we could improve the rooms in your opinion. Best wishes, Tracy Leigh

We stayed here for two nights and wished we’d stayed longer. Our room was spacious with a walk in robe, ensuite, TV with DVD player (including access to a huge DVD library) all in a tranquil bush setting.

Just outside of town it’s so quite you could be miles always but all the sites of Pemberton are just beyond the doorstep. The real treat staying here was sampling Tracey’s delicious meals. Breakfast is first class with everything from truffle scrambled eggs, soufflé, beans on toast to fresh home grown fruit on the menu. Her dinners easily put most restaurants to shame - our recommendation is the rack of lamb!

We loved our stay here and can happily recommend it to anyone that loves the outdoors and excellent food.

I love the warm and friendly greeting by Tracy which continues as wonderful hospitality during the entire stay. The location nestled among the trees with the visiting birdlife I find very relaxing. The amenities are very comfortable with so many little details that are the hallmark of a proprietor wo really cares about her guests.I really appreciate the walk in robe and luggage racks.
Another delight is the food prepared by Tracy who is a talented and passionate chef. The breakfast's are delicious and I really love the option of being able to have dinner ad enjoy a wine without having to drive. The menu is varied and meals sensational.I especially love the vegetarian options and Tracy's flexibility to cook dishes not currently on the menu.

We enjoyed two nights at this lovely B & B in the bush. Tracy was friendly and accommodating and her breakfasts made to order were top class. We had also pre-booked dinner one night to celebrate my husband's birthday and were very satisfied with the Pemberton Trout meal we had chosen. Our room was clean and comfortable and their was a dining/lounge area where we could watch TV, access the internet and eat meals. The lovely peaceful location was ideal and but a short drive to the township.
