“Very expensive for what is on offer”
Review of Abingdon Miniature Village - CLOSED

Abingdon Miniature Village
More attraction details
Attraction details
Owner description: This wonderful attraction has an extensive display of scale model miniature buildings and railways. Many of the models are exact replicas of well known historic buildings from Abingdon Village, parts of the United Kingdom and Germany. Set amongst four acres of beautifully manicured gardens it is a superb must see attraction to visit. Walking through the extensively landscaped gardens is like stepping back in time. The grounds provide you with a self-guided tour past the ornamental lake and miniature steam and diesel trains, canals, locks and barges to the town of Abingdon, the oldest continually inhabited town in England. Included in your entry is the enjoyment of a hedge maze, circular maze, secret garden, lakes, water features, playground and other activities. The grounds also have on offer a challenging 12 hole miniature golf course. After strolling through the gardens, treat yourself to some delicious chocolate, cakes or light lunch at Decandent C's Chocolate Factory just across the road, with ample seating indoors and a great outdoor area for families with children.

Very expensive for what is on offer.
Looked at everything within 15 minutes.
Very expensive just to look at some doll houses and run through a maze.
Gardens were very well kept though.

Kids had most of the fun playing the mini golf (paid extra for that as well)

“Very poor value for money!”
Reviewed March 8, 2013 via mobile

Took the two kids there and was expensive to get in. They were bored stiff and we got round the glorified dolls houses in about 10mins... To justify spending $34 to get in.. I made them play in the park for half hour, however the little cubby houses were covered in webs and didn't fancy a trip to casualty with a 3 year old with a redback bite.

The maize was full of bees, not their fault I know but freaked the kids out... However they enjoyed the secret garden. They wanted to play crazy golf, but I could not justify paying more money!

We were there for a dragged out hour! Had the entry fees not been so high, for so little, we would have had lunch there too... Took the kids to McDonalds instead!

Would only recommend a visit as a last resort or somewhere good to take the grandparents!

“Underwhelming, don't waste your money”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Expected much more for the $15 admission fee. Basically was a series of dollhouses within a tired looking garden. The website showed a picture of someone standing in between some miniature houses which attracted us to visit given the cool picture opportunities, yet when we arrived all of the houses were behind guard rails so we didn't see the point of taking any pictures. The only thing salvaging the visit was the mini golf which was average at best.

We where expecting alot more, the little villages are cute but really not a whole lot to see, the park is nice, the kids liked the maze although very simple, the secret garden needs more, maybe put some fairys in for kids to find, it's a little boring. Cafe expensive. Well maintained, but I guess would be better if you didn't pay a fortune to get in.
