I phoned for a last minute booking and was received in such a friendly and professional manner. First impression when arriving was how beautiful the outlook was. The canal is very peaceful and relaxing. The reception staff were friendly, the only complaint I would have is there was no offer of help with my luggage and it was obvious I was struggling. The room was situated on the ground floor and was fantastic. Really spacious, huge balcony, clean, wonderful bathroom and decorated very tastefully. Phoned reception a few times for different questions and each time was received in such a friendly way. Loved my and felt relaxed and rejuvenated when leaving.

Went for a conference, but it would be a good hotel to stay and explore the surrounds.
Adding breakfast to the price would be helpful. Breakfast was $30 per person, and very nice, but adds considerable to the price.

Dear BigAl_8,

Thanks for your review regarding your recent stay with us at The Sebel Mandurah whist attending a conference.

We do indeed have a bed & breakfast rate to offer guests a more economical option. This is just an extra $17.50 per person for a limited choice a la carte breakfast. This package is available to be booked on our web site or direct with the hotel.

Thanks again for your review,

We stayed 2 nights in the hotel during end of May. We (2 adults + 2 children) were allocated with a big room with a king bed and a sofa bed. The rooms were spacious and cosy as it is a 4 star rated hotel. We liked the scenery here and the receptionist was helpful always. I booked the hotel thru Accor website during member 40% offer sale. It is value for money to stay in The Sebel Mandurah.

First impression - This is a great place to stay for a piece of chilling and doing nothing. There's not much to do here except walk around and enjoy the breeze, sip some wine on the balcony, which was what we wanted to do anyway. Clean, modern seaside apartment.

We had a 2 br, 2 bath so that was great for the 3 of us. A 1br would have been fine, but they seem pretty low on those. Did plenty of cooking with local produce so did not use the restaurant facilities. Full kitchen facilities provided with dishwasher and oven and microwave. Cooking utensils were sufficient, although I wonder, if the apartment was meant for 6, the saucepans were a little on the small side?

Washing machine and dryer with detergent also provided means you do not need to bring tons of clothes along with you, so there's more space for shopping!

The 2 bedrooms were very different in size, both king beds with TV and balconies, but 1 had bathroom attached and walk-in wardrobe and dresser and was still huge! Beds were very comfortable, but heating took a while to get used to. A guide could have been useful.

Main grouse was that while the place was generally pleasant, it did show some signs of wear and tear. The shower hose in the bathroom was coming apart, exposing the rubber tubing inside, and the step rubbish bin cover fell off when I tried to use it. Dishwasher had a funny smell and had some trouble closing. Sliding doors for the balconies took much effort to be locked properly. Not disastrous, but not quite expected of a hotel of this standard?

We stayed for 4 nights but only towels were replaced, no cleaning for floors and tabletops was done, although trash was taken out daily.

Would have been good to have a heated jacuzzi. Heated pool was not warm enough for winter.

Stayed here based on previous 'wow' experience at other Sebel hotels, but seems like Mirvac is no longer running the Sebel group and the standards are just not quite the same. Maybe will try the Seashells if I'm planning another trip to the area.

Thank you for your candid review on your 4-night stay with us at The Sebel Mandurah.

On the whole, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. The shortcomings mentioned will be communicated to our Executive Housekeeper so that we can attend to these issues and not have the next guest affected by these issues. Thanks for letting us know.

Great hotel overlooking the river. Location is within walking distance to all attractions and eateries. The room was clean and spacious and facilities were new and clean. There’s even free public parking next to the hotel. Price wise, it’s a bit on the expensive side but you’re paying a premium for its location and convenience.

Only issue I had was internet access. I couldn’t get an Optus signal but that’s outside the hotel’s control. So I went to use their internet facilities but I found the connection to be pretty slow.

Dear blazing_aces,

Thank you for your review on your recent stay with us at The Sebel Mandurah; I am glad that you enjoyed your time with us.

With regard to the internet, Mandurah is currently receiving the NBN and this will greatly assist our speed. We are also working towards upgrading to WIFI later this year for all guest rooms as we only have this within our conference centre.

Thanks again for your feedback.
