“Dissappointed”
Reviewed April 28, 2012

Stayed just one night on a ground floor apartment opposite the freeway and wow the traffic is constant and loud! I booked this hotel because i have two children and wanted a heated indoor pool incase it was raining, which it was when we stayed BUT the pool was absolutely freezing, most definitely not heated. So because we couldnt swim we thought we would have a nice spa back in the room. Because the spa is so big the hot water ran out in the middle of filling it, once filled and the jets were on it was great, until we saw all the dirt piling up in the bubbles. Assuming the dirt came out of the jets. Not very appealing having a spa in dirt that isnt yours.

We ordered dinner and breakfast from Breezes on Como and they were great. Breakfast was very well priced.

Don't think we will be staying here again

Room Tip: Request a room at the back of complex away from the freeway and a room on the top floor to avoid noi...

Location convenient but out of the hustle.10 mins to CBD, 20 to airport. River across the road, and quiet pleasant streets around. Como is a bit suburban, perhaps, but there are good cafes and a supermarket (I prefer to self-cater when travelling). Freeway noise is certainly there, but what do you expect opposite the freeway? Unlike another reviewer, I was not at all kept awake by it. Unit clean, parking perfectly OK. Pleasant and convenient base for my business commitments south of the river.

On-site restaurant that doesn't do weekday breakfasts is of little use to the business traveller.

Note to management (and I've put this in the feedback form):
You need to provide wine glasses, and you need to get digital TV. ABC analogue TV reception is lousy here. Coffee plunger and coffee sachet would also be very welcome.

Room Tip: If the freeway noise is going to bother you, many rooms are further back and less exposed to the Wes...

Dear Taxidhi,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay at Broadwater and I am delighted to see that there were many facets of your stay that were positive.
The onsite restaurant, Breezes on Como, are currently reviewing their opening hours and responding to local and inhouse guest demand.
I am also happy to advise that as of this week, we have commenced a full resort upgrade of all inroom televisions to 40" screen digital units ensuring access to all free to air digital stations. We hope to complete this rollout within 8-10 weeks.
Thank you again for your review and we hope to see you back at the resort soon!
Kind regards, Deborah Taylor (Resort Manager)

Stayed overnight here. The facilities and apartments were clean and spacious. However the units across the front face out on to the Swan River and the Kunara freeway. The freeway is busy well into the night and starts up again in the wee hours of the morning. It was very noisy and was unable to get a restful nights sleep.

Room Tip: Rooms at the reaer of the protperty would be much quieter

As a family we have been holidaying at Broadwater for 15 years every January. The location is excellent as we bike ride every morning , using cycleways and nearby quiet streets. There are plenty of resturants and shopping centres within walking distance.Rooms are satisfactory considering the age of the resort with good air con and facilities such as washer and dryer, 2 bathrooms etc. The pool and spa are also excellent. Unfortunately our stay this January was ruined as we had our video camera stolen. As we had requested a 2nd storey appartment we were momentarily booked into a ground floor room.Reception were very helpful and arranged another appartment but in the confusion of changing rooms our camera did not accompany us to our new room.
There are no security cameras around car park or accomodation area. Replacing the camera isn't the issue but the priceless memoriies of our children and holidays are now lost.
It is dissappointing as we considered it as our 2nd home.

Booked through Wotif, though it was four star accomodation , may have been twenty years ago. Stayed in a two bedroom unit with a spa as that was all that was left for three nights. Had to get the lounge changed out as it was old tacky and stained and they changed it out for a tacky and less stained one. Has a tiny tv, the book about the resort was filthy and pen marked. The pool is not heated, although the pool spa was ok.
Internet connection is hopeless . Rang the manager the first night and got a response the second time I spoke to staff about the furniture, I was ignored.
I would definitely give it a miss.
Oh and what looks like a blood stain on the curtain for good measure

First appearance is good, the apartments were very comfortable, the staff were good, the location was close to shops + restaurants almost everything else ticked the good box. The major problem for everyone in our group was the extreme noise at night from the very busy 4 lane highway which was approximately 30 mtrs in front of the resort.
Although this is the only negative comment, it is an extremely import one. Would we stay again, unfortunatley, no.

Room Tip: A rear downstairs room facing the pool area

Dear harrynheather,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. It is great to hear you enjoyed the accommodation, staff and location of the resort during your stay.

Many of our apartments face the Swan River which provides great views, however this vista does also results in some noise from the freeway. We also have apartments facing a residential street which does not have the same noise level. Should you return to Perth, please consider staying with us again to enjoy the benefits you noted in your review and I am sure we could allocate you an apartment with less noise to be able to relax during your stay.

Kind regards

I stayed in a one bedroom apartment with loft - the rooms were spacious and the staff were generally very helpful. However, the furniture is tatty, the bathroom at the very least needs re-grouted until its refurbished. I was very disappointed as it looked so nice on the web-site.

Also location wise it was not great for me. It was too far out and its quite far away from the train station, though there is a good bus service into perth city-centre. It was just further out from the city centre than I realised. If your going to a hire a car it would lbe a better location as access to the freeway is easy.

Wouldnt recommend it to my friends

Dear Adrienne M,

Thank you for taking the time to review our resort.

Our refurbishment plans for 2012 include upgrading the furnishing in the rooms and improving the presentation of the bathrooms. These upgrades will be scheduled throughout the year to minimise the impact on our guests, however, ensure that all the overall appearance of accommodation is enhanced.

Kind regards,
Deborah Taylor (Resort Manager)
