“I love this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2014 via mobile

I have stayed here twice and loved both times. So easy, quiet, relaxing. Great rooms and bathrooms. And with a indoor pool spa and sauna what more could you want. But wait theres more. Set on beautiful grounds and the beach out front. I want to stay here every year :)

Dear Alana r, thank you for your wonderful comments about your recent stay at the resort. We are happy to hear that you were able to enjoy all of the hotel facilities we have to offer, such as our indoor heated pool, sauce, gym, tennis courts and squash courts.

We are also delighted to hear that you were able to enjoy the beautiful grounds that the resort offers. With the lake and the local fauna that runs through the resort it certainly is ideal for a leisurely stroll down to the beach at the front of the resort.

It is pleasing to read from your comments that you enjoyed the spacious and well-proportioned rooms at the resort. All of our Lakeside & Beachfront Apartments come with a fully equipped kitchen with all the latest amenities and laundry facilities in the Apartment. The Apartments & Suites also has its own private spa in the en-suite, large balcony with views across the resort and parking space adjacent to the Apartment.

Thank you once again for your glowing review of your stay and we very much look forward welcoming you back to Abbey Beach again in the near future.

We have stayed at Abbey Beach many times in the past and found it clean comfortable and a perfect spot near the beach for walks. When ever we feel like going down south, usually around our wedding anniversary, we head to Busselton and Abbey Beach is always the first and only place book into, we are booked again between Christmas and new year.

Room Tip: Book direct through the Abbey Beach website as you can usually get some good deals.

Dear jomclean51, thank you for your comments about your recent stay at the resort.

We are happy that you were able to have a relaxing holiday in our beachfront location, we are centrally located in the middle of all of the wonderful things you can do in the Southwest. We have direct beach access at the front of the resort to walk along the water and enjoy a sunset or if you are daring at this time of year go for a swim! Busselton’s city centre is only a 7 minute drive, Dunsborough is only 15 and the Margaret River Wine region starts at our door step.

We are also pleased to hear your comments regarding the cleanliness of the resort. As a resort we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our rooms and believe providing our guests with a daily service sets us apart from other resorts in the region. In offering the service we are able to maintain the cleanliness of the resort to the standard that our guests expect.

Thank you once again for your glowing review of your stay and we very much look forward welcoming you back to Abbey Beach again in the near future.

Our winter break week at Abbey Beach was fantastic despite the amazing winter storm that struck the region. The facilities at the resort kept us entertained and happy despite a day of major storm winds. The food and wine in the cafe was excellent and our accommodation warm, welcoming and exceedingly comfortable. The stormy sea was dramatic, but after the storm I enjoyed a great bike ride to Dunsborough along the newly opened coastal cycle path. What a lovely place to stay!

Dear Stuart B thank you for your comments on your stay with us at Abbey Beach Resort.

We are pleased to hear that you loved the resort’s ultimate beachfront location. Being just a stone’s throw from the tranquil waters of Geographe Bay makes us ideal for guests looking to relax on the beach. It is also very pleasing to hear that you enjoyed the many facilities that the resort has on offer. Whether it is our 3 pools including our heated indoor pool, children’s playground or tennis courts and bike hire facility we ensure that our guests never get bored! It is also pleasing to hear that you were able to enjoy the cycle path that runs at the front of the resort from Dunsborough to Busselton. With the resort offering cycle hire it is certainly a popular choice with our guests.

After being shown to a room where the carpets absolutely stank, we complained to the manager. Bad mistake! Rather than trying to help, he was insulting and made offensive comments before insisting he had the right to charge our credit card for a room that we were not prepared to sleep in. Like others who have posted reviews here, we have been subjected to a constant stream of advertising information and it seems all but impossible to stop it. This was once a nice place to stay but not anymore. We certainly won't return especially when there are better "resorts" just down the road. Unfortunately the dot ratings below don't allow minus ratings but this place is filthy

Dear Perth Wozzer,
It disappoints us to read your comments. Its hard to understand how this happened given all the accommodation is cleaned, and then inspected once cleaned. Its then inspected again on the day a guest is arriving into the specific room. Its great you spoke to the Duty Manager, and they moved rooms for you, however there understanding of the conversation varies greatly to your comments, and there was not a conversation held regarding the ‘right to charge a credit card’ etc.
Your comment regarding advertising information is puzzling? If you are on our database and receive a monthly newsletter via email, there is an ‘opt out’ button on each and every newsletter, so if you do not want to continue receiving them, use the opt out button which will remove you automatically or email us directly on info@abbeybeach.com.au with your details and we will certainly remove you from the database.
Whilst we certainly strive to achieve all our guests needs and wants, sometimes a guests perceptions and expectations are unable to be reasonably meet and I wonder having looked at your other reviews on Trip Advisor where you rate other properties average to terrible, whether your expectations and perceptions of what is offered varies from what the property actual offers?

I stayed overnight at Abbey Beach Resort and can't fault the place. Rooms are spacious and very clean, the restaurant was excellent and the setting just beautiful. Very close to the Margaret River area for exploring with every facility you could want. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, special mention to Cheryl-Lee in the restaurant who provided some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. I would recommend this resort to anyone coming to the area.

We have just spent four nights in a spa apartment with a good size corner balcony. The carpet might be ready for a clean (although was not too bad - must get lots of wear) This was our third visit to Abbey Beach and hopefully will not be our last. We were very lucky with the weather (out of Abbey Beach's control.) The food in the restaurant was a bit expensive but delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly. Even when we could not get in our room because the swipe card failed a maintenance man sorted it out within fifteen minutes.

The Resort has a warm friendly atmosphere.

Having Jenny Taylor as the resident Artist must be a huge bonus to the Resort, her work throughout the Resort lifts the spirit.

We think it is in a great location, a hop and a skip to the beach. The town of Busselton has improved greatly over the past couple of years, the ocean front has had a lot of improvements and there are some great places to eat. Check the Deck and the Old Court House.

I did not rate the breakfast as we did not have breakfast in the restaurant. I did not rate the spa in the pool area as it was closed and we had one in our room. The pool was a little cool for winter. But as the young people would say FWP - First World Problem.

Room Tip: Depends how many people and how long. We did book a two bed spa apartment when taking two other fam...

Dear Norman B

Thank you for your wonderful feedback from your recent stay at Abbey Beach Resort. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed the wonderful facilities that we have on offer including our heated indoor pool.

We are glad that you enjoyed the location of the resort. Our ultimate beachfront location & being at the gateway to the Margaret River wine region makes us ideal for people looking to explore the South West. We are pleased that you enjoyed the wide range of leisure facilities that the resort has to offer. Our aim at the resort is to provide guests with a relaxing environment so that they can enjoy their holiday within the spacious surrounds of the resort.

It is also pleasing to hear that you found our Studio Spa Suites to be suitable for all your needs. Our aim is to provide our guests with a clean and spacious environment to relax in, and I am pleased to hear that we were able to achieve this during your stay.

I have spoken to the Housekeeping Manager with regards to the carpets in your room, your room has been marked for steam cleaning. I am sorry that we did not notice this before as our rooms are cleaned, maintained and inspected on a daily basis, as well as before every new arrival. We are also happy to hear the feedback as sometime if you look at something for so long you don’t notice the imperfections. I am also happy that our maintenance team was able to fix your door and get you into your room in a timely manner.

I am delighted to hear that you found the staff at the resort to hospitable and friendly. I will certainly be passing your comments onto the relevant heads of department and the staff. It is such comments as yours that make us continually strive to provide our guests with the highest level of customer service.

We are pleased to hear that you had such an enjoyable stay with us including your dining experience at our Reflections Cafe. The Head Chef at the resort takes great pride in offering our guests a seasonal menu with many dishes featuring locally produced items, so that we are able to provide our guests a taste of what the South West has to offer.

Kind Regards

We stay here over the last weekend. W we're very disappointed. We stayed here over 20 tears ago, and it hasn't changed, decor is the same and condition of rooms are boring. Food and drinks are well over priced, the bar doesn't open until 5pm.
So we will not be returning.

Dear Daddo9,

Thanks for coming back to stay with us after such a long time. Its disappointing to read you review as much has changed in 20 years! The hotel complex was not built that many years ago and this includes 2 restaurants, 25m heated indoor pool, gym, sauna, 2 bars, function facilities and an additional outdoor pool.
Recently new kitchens have been installed in the all the apartments along with new carpeting, new flooring, and new lounge furniture. The hotel also recently had new carpets, and lounge furniture. More renovations are under way and will extend into 2015.

We are sorry you found the pricing of the Food and Beverage expensive at the resort. As a resort we undertake a great amount of market research & believe that our prices are if not comparable and competitive with other resorts & restaurants in the region especially as we look to provide & buy local produce as to give our guests the best experience of what the South West has to offer. The bar opens at 5.00pm every night however the Café is open from 7.30am, 7 days a week and offer coffees, softdrinks and liquor.

Its unfortunate that you will not be returning to stay with us, however should you change your mind we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back to the Resort sometime in the future.
