“We loved it!”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

It was amazing, we stayed in the hotel part of the property and had a huge room with an awesome spa bath.
We had dinner at the main resturant, we had the seafood platter and the Ferguson chicken, both were amazing, and portion sizes were huge!
We also had cocktails at the lobby bar which were great and not too expensive!

Room service was great! HUGE portion sizes and a great selection to choose from.

Staff were lovely, very polite and knowledgable.

Over all a wonderful stay, will definatly be returning!!!!

Ive stayed at the resort on a few occassions over the last two years and was looking forward to seeing some of the rennovated rooms. I still find the main areas of the resort quite dated especially around the bar, resturant and cafe area. The rennovations of the rooms was only a new piece of carpet (not laid very well) and a splash of paint but again the rooms feel outdated with heavy pine/wood look. The resort is lacking the sleak lines most modern resorts provide and inside the rooms have no modern paintings or bed throws to bring the room beyond the 90's feel.
The resort is clean but i found the indoor pool was not heated or was heated to a low tempreature (which in winter is a bit chilly). I didnt find the bed overly comfortable
The food at the resturant has always been great and staff are friendly and helpful. T either. There are cheaper places along the bussel highway that are again more modern.
If the resort had a bit of money spent on it just to make it more modern then this would be a great place because of its proximity to the beach and would be better value for money. Obviously Abbey Beach is not new like The Aqua Resort next door but just some simple touches to bring it into the 00's would make all the difference.
I will always hold the resort in high regard because of the memories over the years but i wont be staying again unless there is a bit of a refurb, i will be visiting the resturant again though because the food is pretty good.

Dear WA_Sunshine_Chaser, I am disappointed to hear of some of your comments. I am unsure of which style of room you stayed in however the rooms and apartments within the hotel complex have had new carpet ( laid by professional layers), new seamless shower screens, new tapware in the bathrooms new beds with cushions and bed runners. The Resort apartments ( 2 & 3 bedroom apartments) have had the similar refurbishment but are also currently undergoing new kitchens as well ( won’t be completed until after Xmas 2011). The heated pool is checked 3 times a day and is heated to between 28 – 31 degrees. We have not had a problem with the temperature of the water for a long time, however the outside temperatures change dramatically, which certainly makes it feel the water temp is colder – which it isn’t. The Resorts ‘style or feel, we would say would be stylish heading towards a more ‘regal’ feel. We are not a ‘new’ Resort, so it is hardly fair to draw comparisons between ‘us’ and a property that has been there 9 months, however we are a ‘true’ Resort with Facilities such as multiple pools, Restaurant & Café, etc. I am sorry to hear you might not stay with us again however we do hope you will someday stay with us. You may want to stay in touch with us for great deals and specials via our website, facebook, twitter or Foursquare.

Great place to stay when in Busselton, it is right on the beach, plenty of spacious rooms to choose from. The rooms were clean and the facilities are great. heated pool, outdoor pools great for Kids or couples.
The only down side was the Cafe, twice now i have had an issue with the quality of the food. I would recommend this property and I will always stay here but I might be careful what i eat.

My husband and I stayed at Abbey Beach Resort for one night mid-week as a short getaway from Perth. I booked through the Entertainment book and got a great price on a Studio Room. The drive from Perth to Busselton was great, and we enjoyed a short stop in Bunbury for lunch. We checked in around 3pm. The entrance to the resort is quite grand looking and the checkin was effortless. The resort does look a little dated, however the room was very clean, and very comfortable. The highlight was the spa in the room! Lovely hot water, and so relaxing! The bed was comfortable, and there was a nice outdoor balcony. We walked around the grounds and were pleased to see what a large resort it was. We also wandered down to the beach, which is just at one end of the resort! This resort would be fantastic in the summer months with the beach in close proximity, lots of outdoor activities. We did not sample the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was not included in our room rate - but this gave us the opportunity to try other places! Overall we had a nice, comfortable and relaxing stay at Abbey Beach which is exactly what we wanted as a short getaway. I would recommend it if that is what you are after!

Room Tip: If travelling as a couple, go for the Studio Room! The spa is great!

Spacious room with spa. The enclosed verandah was brilliant. Lots to do and short private walk to the beach. The restuarant was great value and fantastic meals for special or non special occasions. We found the resort easy to find driving from Perth. Had a walk on the jetty where there is also a train to take you to the end of the jetty where there is an aquarium to view underwater life. Great place for holidays. Will certainly be passing on all information to friends and colleagues to spend time here.
