“Comfortable stay,will be back!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

We spent our Easter Long weekend at a resort in an apartment with 3 bedrooms. It was comfortable. It is getting a bit old now, but the facilities are comfortable. Indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, bbq area...we are satisfied with all of it.

The restaurant and bar are awesome, and food was great...staff very friendly.

Shops are walking distance and so is the beach...very relaxing!

I wish I had done my research before booking this room.
My complaints are much like all listed below.
On the internet the rooms were listed as 'luxury', stated that there were kitchen facilites and amenities.
Also stated that there was Foxtel available on the TV in the room.
The whole resort is far from 'luxury' and is falsely advertised as a 'resort', reception staff were friendly and helpful at arrival, on the way to the room we started to get a little worried as the apartments looked very dingy and run down, opened the door to the apartment and we were hit with a fusty, mouldy smell. The room was dirty, the furniture looked like it was from the 60's, with all chips out of it and all of the walls.
The bedside cabinet even had an in-built radio, showing how old it must have been. The airconditioner looked like it was the same age, the outdoor unit was rusted and looked like it may fall off of the wall if knocked even the slightest.
We were in the room for approximately 30 minutes before returning to the reception and asking for a refund. The receptionist apologised, and said, like the manager has commented below that 'the chips and things are an ongoing thing that we're trying to fix'. It was definitely not worth $169 for the night.
We had to drive around busselton trying to find somewhere else to stay at 4pm on Easter Sunday. It pretty much ruined the weekend for us.
I would never return, and would not reccomend the 'resort' to anyone.

Room Tip: Research! Don't book a room here.

Dear Brit1992,

Thank you for providing us with some feedback from your experience on the weekend, and I am personally sorry that you did not find the Resort to have met your expectations on this occassion.

We do advertise our rooms to contain kitchen facilities, however these are only in our larger 2 and 3 bedroom room types. The smaller hotel style rooms are advertised to provide a small kitchenette with tea and coffee facitilities and they also have a microwave and toaster which many hotel style accommodation rooms do not normally offer.

The rooms do have foxtel channels available on the tv, we certainly would have showed you how to access this on your television should you have decided to stay with us.

As you have mentioned in your review, some of the furnishing are outdated and the age of the resort is appearing to show in the rooms. That is something that we are currently working on as an ongoing project in order to update the resort accommodation and facilities.

We do appreciate your feedback as it is through your comments that we can improve our product. I am sure you will agree that having been provided with a refund on a peak weekend and waiving any cancellation fee was a genuine gesture on our part to be understanding of your situation.

Kind Regards,
Tracy Low - Resort Manager

This hotel is way overpriced. The decor looks like it hasn't been updated from the 80's and the rooms smell damp and musky. The facilities are quite basic... minimal cooking utensils, one small pan and an electric frypan with no non stick coating left. The complex looks like it needs a good clean. There is no allocated parking so we found ourselves coming home on the saturday evening and having nowhere to park. Would definitely not visit again.

I would only stay in this place in a pinch. It is really more for families with young kids, etc. We were hoping to find something a little more quaint than a cottage with fluorescent lighting, and really no special touches for the visitor. The help was courteous, but the front desk woman didn't seem to know the area, and at breakfast they totally forgot my order, so I left and got something to eat at a gas station down the road. The deal breaker for us is that we were headed from Perth to Margaret River and were in the midst of planning the following night's lodging. We were told that there was no internet in the rooms, but if we bought a drink in the bar, we could use the internet for free, which we did, but it was just a hassle trying to plan our weekend on a small bar table with a band playing and us trying to yell to hear each other. Soon, both our computers ran out of battery power, so we went to bed in rather poor spirits. It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to put wireless in the cottages (or put wired connections in and charge for it).

I love Busselton and surrounds and have been several times. We stayed at the Resort for the first time last weekend. The Hotel was chosen as we were attending a wedding and the reception was held there so we thought it would be convenient not having to drive.
The location was good, being so close to the beach, which was beautiful, but a bit out of town, which may suit some people. The staff were very friendly.

As we were too late to eat in the adjoining restaurant, by the time we got settled into our room, it was a good 5/10 mins drive to find somewhere open and it was only just after 9pm on a Friday night. I have to commend the breakfast staff for a lovely 'Big Breaky' the next day.

We booked a Hotel Studio. It did have a small kitchenette, equipped for 2 but only facility was a microwave and kettle. The room looked very tired, dated and definitely needed an overhaul. The spa bath was high therefore making it difficult to climb in and out of to have a shower, even though there was a hand rail to assist. (Not sure how they can sort that one out.) Also take your own toiletries as there was only a curtesy shampoo body wash etc for 1 on the first night even though there were 2 of us staying 2 nights. We may have got more if we asked, but we were prepared with our own toiletries so didnt bother. It is hard to believe that the towels were not changed every day but I imagine that would be due to 'water saving'. The Hotel does state that the rooms are only serviced every 5 days. 2 days I could handle but 5?? I did notice just before we left, what appeared to be small patches of mould on the bathroom ceiling. The bed was comfy, air cond. worked well and we seemed to have enough room, though we were not there much.

Whilst getting dressed for the wedding, we were disappointed in not having a full length mirror to be able to check our outfits, only the small bathroom mirror and that surprised us considering there are a few weddings held at the restaurant there throughout the year, with people staying and I am sure people would like to see how they look.

I think it would be ok for families in a villa as the facilities for children were good having a games room, pool and close to the beach. Personally I feel that for the price we paid for a 3.1/2 star rating, we could have stayed in a better resort. Stay there again? I don't think so. The are many more Hotels and Resorts to try.

We just got home from two nights in a 3 bed 2 bath villa and it was fantastic. Clean, roomy, well presented inside and out. The kitchen was well stocked with all the plates, utensils etc that we'd need. The pools were fabulous, BBQ area was very handy and the games room was popular with the kids. The local visiting possums were a bonus :)
I'm not sure if we were lucky given some of the other reviews I've read or we had a renovated room but we didn't have anything to complain about! We'll be back for sure.

We just spent 2 nights at the resort and I must say I was very disappointed. The place is dirty, dated and very run down. Highly over rated and totally overpriced. The food in the restaurant was a saving grace and most of the restaurant staff were superb, the chef was great and the backpackers very professional.
The pool was over chlorinated to the point where I can still smell it back in Perth.

Honestly, at the rates they dare to charge, you will FIND a lot better value along the coastal strip. There is no way I would recommend this place to ANYONE! Stay elsewhere.

Dear KiwiRuch,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback from your recent stay with us as it is through our Guests comments that we can improve our service and standards. Of course I was very disappointed to hear that you were not impressed with the accommodation. The resort is currently undergoing some refurbishment of the guest rooms, as we have identified the need to revitalise the facilities to meet our Guests expectations. This will be carried out over the upcoming year.
I will certainly pass your comments onto the Restaurant staff and am pleased that you had an enjoyable dining experience.
If you do change your mind and decide to visit us again in the future, please don't hesitate to contact me directly so that I can offer you the best available deal.
Kind Regards
