Owner description: One of the most popular tourist attractions and photographed icons in Western Australia, a must see for any visitor to the Margaret River region. Enjoy breathtaking views above and below the ocean from the Busselton Jetty – the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and second longest in the world! Spanning over 1.8kms (over a mile long), the Jetty is home to one of only six operating Underwater Observatories in the world. Ride the new electric Jetty Train along the length of the Jetty, with 360 degree views across Geographe Bay, and take a tour of the Underwater Observatory at the end. Experienced guides lead you through the natural wonders that lie beneath the Jetty where its piles create Australia’s greatest artificial reef, host to an awe inspiring forest of vividly-coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals and fish. Descend 8 metres beneath the water’s surface to view more than 300 different marine species in their natural habitat. Don't miss the Museum and Gift shop.

Nice beach and nice jetty...
You need to spend at least one night to enjoy the sights there...
Best is to drive to Margaret river and stop over for a night or two to really enjoy what busselton have to offer.

Had a stop with my parents here. We had nice weather and a couple of nice hours here. We got on the little train, it's a bit boring to be honest, so really no problem to walk . We only got the train to the observation place, after that we walked the way back. It's quit interesting what u can see and what the guides tell you about the history and the marina live . Stop there for a couple of hours and enjoy this nice clean town.

My son and I loved the train ride but the UnderWater Observatory was a huge disappointment. It was not child friendly at all. There was a lot of talking by the tour guide which was more directed at adults and unfortunately very little to see when we go there which really surprised me. Sorry cant recommend this as I thought it was a complete rip off for what you got. Cost was around $43 for the two of us. We wont ever go again.

I was interested in taking my family on the little train which runs the 1.7kms of the jetty and then to visit the observatory at the end of the jetty. As a young girl I had visited the original jetty and had many childhood memories. I was impressed with the little museum especially the time line which helps young historians to appreciate the jetty's journey. The train ride itself was nothing spectacular but beats walking the length of the jetty with children. The observatory was well thought out but the time spent viewing was limited. The day we visited there were limited variety of ocean life to view. It is a good fund raiser to keep the jetty maintained.

Really enjoyed visiting Busselton, and esp the jetty (pier). There is ample free car parking (2 car parks with in 2 mins of each other). It costs $2.50 to walk along during the day. Free before 8 and after 16.00 I think. There is a train, but I would not suggest getting this. It is not that far and the walk is much nicer, and the train is not that quick. The gift shop/museum at the start is nice, the museum is well thought out and Informative, but the shop was lacking some thing, I struggled to find some thing that would make me think of the jetty and kept finding things with 'made in Spain' labels on. There is tourist info formation point near too, the staff were friendly. Also small cafe selling drinks ice cream. The beaches either side are very nice to walk along. A good way to spend a day. There are BBQ to use i the park just behind beach. But the one place to visit, is The Goose kitchen and bar to the right of the jetty. Had breakfast here looking the jetty/beach/sea. Food service drinks all very good, brilliant setting too. Have also done full review. Also walk along jetty as the sun is setting, perfect place to watch and see the local fishermen fishing from the jetty.
