Owner description: One of the most popular tourist attractions and photographed icons in Western Australia, a must see for any visitor to the Margaret River region. Enjoy breathtaking views above and below the ocean from the Busselton Jetty – the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and second longest in the world! Spanning over 1.8kms (over a mile long), the Jetty is home to one of only six operating Underwater Observatories in the world. Ride the new electric Jetty Train along the length of the Jetty, with 360 degree views across Geographe Bay, and take a tour of the Underwater Observatory at the end. Experienced guides lead you through the natural wonders that lie beneath the Jetty where its piles create Australia’s greatest artificial reef, host to an awe inspiring forest of vividly-coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals and fish. Descend 8 metres beneath the water’s surface to view more than 300 different marine species in their natural habitat. Don't miss the Museum and Gift shop.

Busselton Jetty is the longest jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, extending 1.8km across the amazing Geographe Bay.

This place is fantastic! The view is nice and the jetty is a nice visit. Great place for photography. Also for ice-cream while the seabreeze blows on your face, happiness!

Granted we visited in the middle of winter (meaning the underwater observatory was closed), but for the charge, the jetty train ride was simply transportation to (yet another) overpriced tourist trap souvenier shop. Save your money, have a lovely brekky at the Goose restaurant, and take the kids elsewhere - very little in it for them without the Observatory.

Great exercise ! Walk out and get the train back or vice versa, it is worth the walk. The Underwater Observatory was closed but we still enjoyed our visit

A lovely walk out to the end of the jetty and a visit to the shop where we bought interesting little gifts for our kid's present box. Watch the locals fish from the pier and breathe in the fresh sea air. You can catch the train and have a look at the under water observatory but it is a bit expensive and we didn't think it was necessary.

You can either walk to the end of the jetty or talk the train that runs along. When you get to the end you go down a light of stairs to an amazing live underwater acquarium Kids and adults alike will love it.
