“EQUINOX”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Equinox restaurant is located within short walking distance of the Busselton jetty and overlooks Geographe Bay. It is surrounded by landscaped lawns which provide a venue at various times for concerts. The food is always pleasing, the coffee great and the service excellent. Unfortunately it has been difficult to access for some time due to some council works that have been undertaken. However, when it is up and running again, I can recommend it as a great place to dine with a friend or just have coffee and cake and watch the world go by.

“cafe food at fine dining prices”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Service was slow, I paid $42 for a not very big piece of scotch fillet, some prawns, a baked potato, a couple of pieces of leeks and not much else. The plate of food was presented in away that was visually disjointed and there was no melding of the food nor flavours. All presented with paper napkins on a laminex table. Was hoping for something better at this price.

“Good food, good service, great location”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

I've eaten here pretty regularly over the years and last night's dinner was about the best I've had so far.
We started with some toasted ciabatta with evoo and dukkah - only two slices of bread, but it was enough and very tasty.
Followed by herb crusted salmon, perhaps a little overcooked but tasty. Also a delicious chicken involtini.
Dessert was a raspberry and white choc cheesecake and an orange and almond cake - both very nice. The presentation of the cake wasn't great and the aerosol cream let it down but the flavours were definitely there.

Equinox is recommended for a meal or a coffee any time of day - reasonably priced (for WA!) with good food and friendly service.

“Good Food But Expect Inconsistency”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

Food was undeniably good. The pesto mussels were a good choice as the dish was substantially filled with mussels laden with a good amount of flavourful sauce. It was hard not to mop up every drop of it with the bread slices that were served alongside. The Thai beef salad was generous in ingredients with the right amount of dressing. The vegetable ravioli from the kids' menu was cooked to al-dente perfection but the pasta could be cooked for a slightly longer minute since the dish was meant for a child who might not understand the concept of al-dente, and could therefore comment that the pasta is under-cooked. The food was so enjoyable that a return visit was made the very next day. Unfortunately, the restaurant was at its busiest at that time, thus causing the service and food quality to be compromised. The waiting time was extremely long and the pesto mussels that was ordered again did not meet the same expectations as the previous day. The quantity of mussels over two orders were inconsistent - one dish had more and bigger morsels while the other dish had lesser of everything, including the sauce. That was a major disappointment. Due to the long waiting time, no one could bear to complain. Hunger pangs took priority. Having said that, the kids' menu of vegetable ravioli tasted better the second time around as it was cooked "less" al-dente. Just perfect for a child's tastebuds.
